Outstanding experience with Mountaintop Metal Roofing. Our roof and the underlying insulation was initially installed completely wrong. They helped us by working directly with the insulation crew that we hired to coordinate work schedules and come up with the best solutions for the entire top of our home. Execution was flawless - they coordinated everything well ahead of time and communicated very well so that we knew what to expect and when. They worked out all the details with our insulation crew so that the installation went on schedule. Our roof is now better insulated and ventilated, and looks beautiful. At the end of the day, Mountaintop also provided an excellent value. As long as we're in our current home, I don't think we'll need another roof in our lifetime. Highly recommend Mountaintop!

First class from start to instillation to cleanup

Other than some uncontrollable delays due to forest fires and Covid, the whole process was very smooth. Glenn was the only one I had to deal with from initial bid to completion. The end product is breath taking. The bid was the best combination of cost and product that I got. I am very happy with the outcome.

We live in rural Oregon, in a house nearly a quarter century old. The age and condition of the original roof, and the increasing danger of wildfires, made us consider a metal roof option. We contacted multiple specialty companies, interviewed two, and eventually chose Mountaintop Metal Roofing. Double checking with the roof-tile manufacturer gave us added confidence in Glenn Boss, Mountaintop’s owner. Glenn also came highly recommended by neighbors whose roof he had recently installed. At the interview, Glenn walked us through the planning and installation process, knowledgeably and without pressure. He helped us choose the specific metal tile, by giving us a sample and pointing us to addresses with roofs he had installed. He also committed to coordinate with the solar company, which had to disassemble and re-assemble our solar panels. When the COVID-19 pandemic slowed our decision process, Glenn waited patiently. Once we gave him the green light, he honored his original quote, even if it had formally expired. He followed through with excellent planning, coordination, and execution. At no point in the process did we feel uneasy or rushed, rather always feeling informed, listened to, and pleased with the on-time progress. The two-person crew that came do the installation was extremely hard-working, polite and respectful of our ‘no contact’ request. As we worked outside in our vegetable gardens and trees, we could watch as they made fast yet careful progress. They also coordinated very well with the solar company, in all logistics—making it rather painless for us. The crew cleaned up installation debris as they went, and quite thoroughly, leaving all surroundings in great shape when they departed daily and at the end of the installation. They completed the work in a few hours less than the four full days that they had anticipated. The metal roof was installed on top of the original one, an environmentally sound option. The result is very attractive, and the attention to detail is noticeable. The roof was concluded just ahead of the September 2020 major winds and wildfires in Oregon, and withstood gust of 60 miles per hour or so without any apparent glitch. All the documentation that we asked for was or is being provided, and the lines of communication remain open and clear. We are extremely pleased with our decision to install a metal roof, and with the work of Mountaintop. Mountaintop Metal Roofing did an amazing job start to finish. Glenn’s team was prompt every day starting early and working late to get the job done. They were always very pleasant, often times checking in with us before and after their workday. Glenn’s communication was stellar throughout the project, coming to the house numerous times to make sure things were going smoothly. We are thrilled with the finished product. It is even better than we had hoped for.

When we decided to replace the roof on our 1944 bungalow, we wanted to try and get a metal roof. We did some research on our own, but Glenn spent time with us to educate us on the product and our options. He took a look at our roof, answered questions, and taught us about how it was constructed. The same day we got a material recommendation. He also clearly priced so we understood a breakdown of cost and process. In the end, it wasn’t much more expensive than a composite roof but it’s going to last much much longer. The company is fairly new so I did my due diligence to look into the owner and company. I did everything except call his mom for a character reference. We had a date for a material arrival and an expected start date less than a week later. We lucked out with the weather and Glenn was able to be present for material delivery and the start of the project. The work itself went pretty smoothly. Glenn was there every day and communicated clearly via text or phone call as needed. This was very important to us and we never felt like we were out of the loop and he listened to and addressed any concerns we had along the way. After the roof was installed, Glenn caught an inconsistency and had a crew member come back to correct it. He also recommended a gutter company that knew how to work with metal roofs. We are very pleased with what we chose and the house looks great. We bought a quirky house and this has gone a long way to improving the look and curb appeal. As days are warming up, we’ve noticed that our top floor stays cooler than it usually does. Highly recommend Glenn and his team.

I just got my roof replaced by Mountaintop Metal. Having decided that a roof replacement was next on my list of home improvements, I requested bids from several companies, including two that specialized in metal roofs. The metal roofing bids were comparable. The cost of a metal roof is significantly higher, but having “inherited” several layers of worn-out and crumbling cedar/asphalt/composite layers, I gravitated towards the longevity, sustainability, and low-maintenance aspects of metal. After a few discussions with Glenn, I opted for Mountaintop Metal. Given the cost of the project, I was a little neurotic leading up to installation day. Glenn handled all my questions calmly and generously. He was also proactive about communicating timelines and delivery dates, etc. The installation itself went smoothly. The team was personable on the ground and conscientious about the work itself and the clean up after. I was initially worried that the black material would be too dark, but I really like the final look. Depending on the quality of the light hitting the matte finish, the color of the roof shifts slightly; it’s really lovely. I only have two regrets: 1. I had skip sheathing, so the roof tear off resulted in quite a bit of debris in the garage and attic – I wish I had thought to put down some plastic beforehand. 2. As a new homeowner, I’m developing my rolodex of local go-to contractors with whom I’ve had a positive experience. Unfortunately I’ve only got the one roof (which will last decades) and therefore limited opportunity to be a repeat customer.

We had a few reasons for doing so; Quality, longevity, and piece of mind based on our interactions with Glenn, he followed up with us on a consistent basis and assured us that he would be managing the project from start to finish, and that is exactly what he did. We made the decision to replace our roof during the winter, which is not ideal, but Glenn’s crew showed up as planned and got it done in less time than originally planned. When looking to replace our roof we really wanted to look at metal roofing because of the longevity and look of the product. Although the initial cost of a metal roof is slightly more, if not comparable to a higher end composite material, the payoff over its lifetime is much less, so it was an easy choice. With composite we would have to replace it twice in our lifetime, now we don’t have to change it ever again and we love the look of our metal shingle roof. We chose to go with Mountaintop Metal Roofing because of the different metal roof style options, competitive pricing when compared to other metal and composite roofing companies, and Glenn being very knowledgeable about the products he offered. Glenn provided clear and consistent communication throughout the whole project and was a pleasure to work with him and his crew. Glenn came to our home in the evening to talk to us about replacing our roof. He was very informative about his products, along with other roofing materials as well. All our questions were answered, and a lot were asked. What we liked about this product is when the time comes to replace it the next owner will not incur any damage from tear off, unlike some of the new composite installs out there. In a world that promotes “reduce, reuse & recycle,” we were excited to choose a product that is made of 95% recycled material and can be recycled at the end of its lifetime, 50+ years from now. Our home is a 1901 farmhouse that has been maintained over the years, and now it’s our turn to show it some love. We take joy knowing we will not have to replace our roof in our lifetime, and the warranty is transferable! An important thing to us when we hire contractors is communication. There is nothing worse than having your house torn apart and not hearing anything for several days. With Mountaintop Metal Roofing this wasn’t the case. There was clear communication every day, start to finish. As with any project there can be delays and that’s why it’s even more imperative to have an open line of communication between the contractor and homeowner. We never once had to call to ask about progress, Glenn always kept us informed! The install process was very smooth, with a great crew that was a delight to work with. They kept the sight clean daily and the final clean-up was much better than expected. We understand it’s impossible to get every single little thing, but they did a much better job at clean up than most contractors we’ve seen. We would absolutely refer Mountaintop Metal Roofing for your next roofing project. The price was great, the service was great, and Glenn and his crew did a superb job.
