"Breaker Brothers Electric may be a fairly new company, but I urge you to take a chance with them. I did and couldn't be happier with their work. Matt and John are both great to work with and their bid was very fair and beat the competition. They replaced our old breaker box and installed a car charger for us. The work was great, the communication was clear and timely, and the guys were trustworthy and friendly. The project was done well and on time. Next time I have any electrical needs, I'll call them directly. I was very impressed with Breaker Brothers Electric!"

"I couldn't have hoped for a better experience. The scheduling was professional and prompt, the service was spot on and high quality. They arrive in a nice truck with lots of supplies, and do a quick estimate, then get right into it. I had a list of jobs saved up, which included installing new bathroom fixtures and new outlets. Everything was done just right and the area left clean and everything tested out to my satisfaction. No surprise in the bill and I felt it was a fair price. Small jobs welcome

"Nathan installed several outlets in our garage , a new security light behind the garage, and corrected the wiring to our court lights. He did a great job with all the work, routing the wiring very neatly, installed the outlets where I wanted them and advised me on the best way to get what I needed. He was very open to all my questions as well as my grandson’s questions about why Nathan did things a certain way. Nathan was very patient and made sure we both understood the reasons and methods for his work. Excellent work ethic. Highly recommend Nathan for any electrical work you and your friends/family might have."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

When it’s time to replace an old or broken pool light, you can hire an electrician near you to get the job done. Working with an electrician is helpful for pool light replacements, especially if you need to repair or update any existing wiring or install new wiring for additional pool lights.

GFCI stands for ground fault circuit interrupter, which means it has the ability to detect a ground fault and shut the circuit down before it creates hazards. General breakers may also do that because ground faults can cause overloads, but they’re more focused on amp overloads from any cause. GFCIs are often installed in specific outlets, but breakers can come with GFCI capabilities built in for broader ground fault protection.

No, you don’t need to hire an electrician to install your garage door opener. Garage door professionals have the skills and expertise to install the wiring necessary to connect the opener to your home’s wiring system. When hiring a local garage door professional to install your system, make sure the opener task is included in the list of provided services.

The best light switch is user dependent. What works for one person might not work for another. Someone looking to ward off burglars may choose to install proximity light switches or anti-vandal switches, while someone who simply wants to find the switch in the bathroom without using a nightlight may prefer an illuminated light switch. Consider the location of your light switch and the features you want to help you decide on the right light switch for your home.

Yes, most electric and automatic gates can be opened manually. They are equipped with a manual override or release mechanism that detaches the motor from the gate, allowing it to be moved by hand. This feature is essential during power outages or other emergencies.

To activate the manual override, you will typically need a specific key or tool. In some cases, you may also need a screwdriver to remove a cover to access the release mechanism. The use of a key is a common security measure to prevent unauthorized individuals from manually opening the gate.

Because every model is different, it is highly recommended to consult your gate's user manual to familiarize yourself with the specific procedure before you need to use it. Keep any necessary keys or tools in an accessible location. Be aware that automatic gates can be very heavy, so opening and closing them manually may be difficult.

In North America, electric gates are also subject to the UL 325 Standard for Safety, which includes provisions to allow emergency responders to access the property.
