"Steve Moutafov (owner) provided a quote for the job.  After analyzing the house, he determined that the 3 wood decks and front of house trim needed a lot of additional attention due to previous painters having done an inferior quality of work, in addition to wood rot.  This, obviously  was at an additional cost above the quoted base price of $5100.00..  This house was built in the mid-70s and was overdue for paint maintenance.  Crew arrived promptly each day and at the end of each day, cleaned up all paint scraps. debris and tools.  I have submitted 1 other review on Intercolor Painting services, which was for painting a couple interior rooms; I rated them excellent then as well.  Steve is very easy to work with, he's accommodating and will offer his opinion if asked, which I very much appreciated. He went the extra mile to caulk, etc, which I can't say enough about the quality of work they do. I would encourage others to  experience  for themselves; I don't believe there's a painting contractor anywhere that  does a better job  prepping  and painting.  Steve truly cares about the job being done.  I'd offer an A+ if I could."

"I received a call with a more than reasonable quote within hours of sending a request. I orignally painted the wall myself, ran out of paint, bought the wrong color, and made a mess of the wall. Someone was here 5 days later to complete the job and made it so my mess up didn’t happen. Professional, kind, great price, even greater work. The photo doesn’t do it justice because I have poor lighting in the room that makes it look strange, but they did an incredible job with what I had given them"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

There are deck restoration products and oil-based wood stains that can help bring back some of the color and shine to your faded Trex decking. However, if your boards are suffering from serious fading due to UV rays or chemical cleaning products, don’t expect miracles. Also, these products are only suitable for use on the older Trex boards, not the capped, second-generation Trex products.

The general consensus is that two coats of stain are required and since the cedar is siding, a third coat of sealant is always a good idea. This helps protect the wood and stain, so you won’t need to resand and restain for at least a decade. Each stain after the first will darken the wood, so be aware of that when choosing a colored stain.

Whitewashing isn’t permanent, but it can last for a long, long time. When you apply it correctly or have a seasoned pro whitewash your brick, whitewashing can last for 20 to 30 years or longer. Whitewash is very durable and typically requires little maintenance, making it a great project for most DIYers.

Applying a sealer or topcoat after staining wood is highly recommended, though not always strictly required. A sealer protects the wood from moisture, UV rays, and weather-related issues, which is especially important for outdoor surfaces like decks and fences. It also enhances the stain's durability, prevents fading over time, and gives the wood a cleaner, more professional-looking finish. For some indoor applications, a sealer may not be necessary, depending on the type of stain used and the level of protection needed. It's always best to check the stain manufacturer's recommendations and consider the wood's intended use and exposure when deciding whether to apply a sealer.

Beyond liquid rubber, homeowners can use sealants, stains, membranes, or tapes as waterproofing options. Oil-based or water-based sealants soak into the wood, creating a moisture-resistant barrier. Waterproofing stains—available in transparent, semi-transparent, and solid colors—add both protection and style to your deck. For heavy-duty waterproofing, deck membranes and waterproof tapes can be applied under the deck boards to direct water away from the structure below. Whatever method you choose, clean and prep the deck first to ensure the best, longest-lasting results.
