"I was so pleased with Bautista Landscaping. I would recommend them to anyone AND I will seek them out for any future service. After discovering that our mower didn't work and being unable to pick up a new one due to the pandemic, my husband and I were tasked with finding a lawn service. Trying to find a lawn service that was willing to be professional as well as being completely contactless was a nightmare UNTIL we found Bautista Landscaping. We communicated through calls, texts and emails; they allowed me to pay contact-less as well. Bautista Landscaping was so accommodating. I was absolutely thrilled with their service and professionalism. Hire these guys; they are fantastic!"

"Absolutely Great ! I would hire them again. Erick was helpful and his team led by Joshua were proficient and very personable. They painted very hard to reach areas and their attention to detail was excellent. Very happy with the results."

"I thought I was gonna have to replace the whole deck after I noticed one of the corners was starting to rot pretty bad. Honestly, I was already bracing myself for a full rebuild. But the guys at Expert Home Builders came out and told me they could just do a partial repair. Wasn?t expecting that but they made it work and saved me a ton. The patch blends in better than I thought it would and the deck feels solid again. I probably should?ve called them sooner, but glad I didn?t let it get worse."

"great! - would definitely use Christopher & Company again. We thought we had some wood rot, but when carpenter arrived, he found it was just stained, not rotted. He did find a section on top part of house that had some damage and replaced that for us. Work was done quickly, he was very tidy, complete and clean up was excellent. very professional!

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Your tool of choice ultimately comes down to personal preference. Many DIYers prefer applying stain with a lint-free rag, but others stick with a paint brush or a roller. Wipe the stain and work it into the wood, working with and against the grain. If you’re applying multiple coats, allow the stain to dry for around four hours between coats.

Constant exposure to inclement weather conditions can damage your deck, causing it to fade, warp, or crack over time. Regular maintenance keeps it looking and performing its best. That means giving it a good cleaning and applying a quality sealant or wood treatment to help defend against moisture, sun damage, and everyday wear.

To make sure the paint won’t bubble as you apply it, make sure to paint on a day that’s cooler than 85 degrees Fahrenheit. When the temperature is too high, the paint won’t dry evenly, which can result in bubbles forming on the surface. Another way to prevent paint from bubbling is to clean the walls, apply primer, and let everything dry completely before you begin.

Here's the deal with leaving used rags covered in oil-based stain lying around in a pile: Depending on the conditions, these rags can take just an hour or up to a few days to combust. The source of ignition is caused by trapped heat that can be compounded if the rags are near a heat source.

Various kinds of substances and deck preservatives act as protective coatings for wood to prevent rot, which is caused by water getting into the wood and creating cracks and splits. Stains, paints, and sealants are the three best options to protect your wood, but there are also oils, varnishes, and waxes available. You’ll need to reapply sealant at least once per year, and you should inspect your wood deck regularly to look for signs of damage or general wear and tear.
