"Damon Fletcher epitomizes professions at the highest level. Always seeks the best solutions and sources the best equipment for installations. He employs a knowledgeable top flight crew at all times. To watch them work (1 hot tub and 2 swimming pools thus far) is poetry in motion. We are grateful to know him. We are always willing to refer Damon without reservation."

"My automatic pool cover ropes were tangled. This happened just as we were having visitors from out of state. Sadly, we could not open our pool cover and enjoy the pool. Matthew was the first to respond and give me a quote. It was a difficult job which they did in heavy downpour. They also came late in the day to accommodate our request to get it done quickly. They were able to fix my automatic pool cover. I would highly recommend Matthew for a project."

"During covid we didnâ t have anyone maintaining our pool. I found Hugo last spring. He came out, assessed the situation, and was able to get our pool in working order pretty quickly. We also ended up needing a new pool cover which he was able to install himself. It looks great. Heâ s been quick to respond to phone calls or texts, and takes care of the maintenance quickly, and prices are fair."

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

It’s possible to move a hot tub on its side or base as long as it fits snugly in the moving truck, with plenty of padding around it. This moving method requires specialized equipment and careful planning, like moving straps, dollies, and moving blankets.

A hot tub cover's lifespan is typically between three and seven years, with an average of five to seven years for a well-maintained one. The quality of the cover is a major factor; lower-quality polyester or vinyl soft covers can tear easily with regular use.

To extend the life of your cover, proper maintenance is key. This includes:

  • Keeping the cover clean, dry, and out of the sun. Use a soft cloth and mild dish soap for cleaning.

  • Applying a vinyl protectant spray.

  • Cleaning the underside with a chlorine spray.

  • Using a cover lift to prevent damage from rough handling.

  • Protecting it from harsh weather.

  • Keeping children and pets off the cover.

Investing in a high-quality cover and checking for a warranty at the time of purchase can also contribute to its longevity.

No. In fact, some owners prefer to “summerize” their hot tubs and use them primarily over winter to enjoy the contrast of cold and hot water. It’s possible to keep the tub filled and running year-round, and some pros may even recommend this method compared to the work and risks of a full winterization every year.

However, keeping the hot tub running will require additional resources. You’ll use more power and more chemicals to keep it in good shape. Weigh the pros and cons of your situation before making a decision.

Yes, but only if it is a freshwater tub (not saltwater) and if you make sure the chlorine and bromine levels are below 1 ppm.

Generally, it is more cost-effective and energy-efficient to leave your hot tub on all the time rather than turning it on and off. Reheating a hot tub from a cold temperature consumes a significant amount of energy, so maintaining a constant temperature is usually more economical, especially with frequent use.

For daily or weekly use, it's recommended to keep the water at a constant, reduced temperature, such as between 80 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit, and then increase it to your desired temperature before getting in. If you know you won't be using the hot tub for an extended period, you can lower the temperature to save on energy costs. However, if you use it very infrequently, you can turn it off completely, as long as there is no risk of the water freezing.
