Family owned and operated. Providing quality heating and cooling service since 1939. We strive for the highest level of customer satisfaction and look forward to earning your business. Additional phones - (Auburn) (253) 939-2222 & (Puyallup) (253) 841-2237. Additional contact name - Doug Phillips.

"We have been using East Hill Heating & Cooling for close to 20 years now. First, in our Federal Way home and then when we moved to our Auburn home. They have repaired both furnace and hot water tanks over the years and also replaced them when needed. ( each home had different issues ). They have also installed digital thermostats in each home when we asked them to do so. Our new home had some issues underneath that we were unaware of when we bought it. It is a manufactured home. Doug crawled underneath, made the repairs and rewrapped all of the duct work to fix the problem. They have always fit us into their swamped schedule and never suggest replacing, when repairing is a better and more economical option. We trust them completely! I am writing this today because we noticed a leak this morning in our hot water tank. It is the old, original one. Christy called Doug and he drove by our place on his way to his originally planned job. Their customer service is AMAZING and I do not look forward to the day they finally retire."

Emerald City Energy, Intermountain Glass and McLendon Home Services have been serving Puget Sound home owners since 1997.

"DO NOT USE: We were quoted $6K for a shower kit install. Upon completion of the work, it was immediately apparent that the installation was defective and did not meet acceptable industry standards. Specifically: No water membrane was installed behind the shower kit, rendering the installation non-compliant with waterproofing best practices. No caulking was applied to seal seams, leaving the installation vulnerable to water intrusion and damage. The walls and surrounding trim were not plumb, which made it impossible to install a functioning shower door. A McLendon's supervisor subsequently inspected the installation onsite and acknowledged the poor workmanship. We were informed that the matter would be addressed, but despite multiple follow-up phone calls, we received no further communication or resolution from McLendon's. Nevertheless, the remaining balance of $3,100 was charged to our account without our authorization or consent and without any resolution."

Hello, My name is Bobby Scott/Owner/Electrical Contractor/Administrator and electrician. I find to give the best customer service is to be at every step of the job. I love working solo and primarily focusing on work in the South King County and North Pierce County areas in residential new construction or residential remodeling. "Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

"Our heat pump was not working and the tech replaced the capacitor and 'soft kick start' which fixed the issue. I did not get any warranty info with my invoice, so I called the office to ask for it and was told they would get back to me. I also told her that I was hearing a new noise from the heat pump. When I had not heard a week later, I left a message. (New noise had stopped, but still they should have responded.) When I didn't hear from them a week after that, I reached someone in the office who told me that I would receive info in an email the next day or a phone call. Still haven't gotten anything and it's been 5 weeks. Three Strikes and You are Out Black Lion! Either the office workers or the management don't care!"

Owner Operator, Owner of company does every job. Leak Detection is a specialized sector of the plumbing industry, and not all companies have the equipment and experience needed to handle detection and repair. We use technologically advanced detection equipment that allows us to locate and repair leaks efficiently. With our state-of-the-art equipment, we’re able to find the problem. We will come out and find your water line leak. We utilize many methods to find the leak. We have highly sensitive ground microphones that can hear the water movement through the pipes and water leaking out of the pipe underground. To verify water leaks that we have found we can use helium gas, as a tracer gas, if necessary. Helium gas is lighter than air and is tasteless, odorless, and non-flammable. It is inert and consequently does not react with water or water system materials. It is commonly used in the medical, food, and sea-diving industries. We pressurize the water line with helium gas and have a detector that works above ground to detect gas leaking out of the water line, rising through the soil. There are times we will also listen with the acoustic equipment for the gas escaping out of the water line where the leak is present. Not only do we use helium gas, we also utilize other types of compressed gases to get the job done. We come to every job prepared to do what it takes to find the leak. Additional address - 501 Roy, Unit R325, Seattle, WA 98109.

"Simon came on time. As soon as he walked up to my front yard. He pointed out a wet spot on my lawn right by the drive way. He used his machine to listen to the ground and determined the leaking spot and marked on the ground. The whole process is less than an hour."

Water Heaters questions, answered by experts

An average-sized empty water heater weighs around 150 pounds. Tankless water heaters are much lighter, weighing between 10 and 50 pounds. The smaller size and added convenience come at a price, though—tankless water heaters average about twice the price of their traditional counterparts.

Water expands when heated and also when freezing. When water is heated, it expands by around 4%. For a full water heater, this is one of the main reasons malfunctions occur—the hot water has nowhere else to go but out. Due to the constant expansion and reduction in volume, it’s recommended (required in most places) that an expansion tank be installed.

While possible, professional assistance is recommended to ensure compliance with local regulations and avoidance of avoidable risks.

Due to the high temperature, using stainless steel vent pipes for your tankless water heater’s exhaust vent is best. Also, it is safe to use a flexible vent duct as the exhaust fan. If installing the exhaust fan yourself, make sure you are using heat-resistant silicon to connect the exhaust vent and the duct on your water heater.

If you have a tank-type electric water heater, it runs regularly to keep the water at the desired temperature. If you live in a home where you don’t use much hot water, it could seem wasteful to run power to heat water that you’re using infrequently. You could save some power by using a smaller tank, insulating the tank, or lowering the temperature of the water heater.
