"We reached out to a few different local yard service companies and American Rose Garden was by far the most responsive. Tad contacted us quickly to schedule a walk-through, was thorough going over exactly what we wanted, and even made calls on-the-spot to see if he could fit his crew within our tight schedule (we had a party coming up). His quote was very reasonable and right on the dot when the bill came later on. He even returned later with one of his foremen who would be managing the crew to make sure that he knew exactly what we wanted in the yard. Later that week, the crew arrived right on time and worked hard and quick through the rain. They were all friendly and professional. We're so grateful we found Tad and American Rose Garden! The yard and walkways look impeccable. By far more than we expected. We will absolutely be using them again in the future and recommending them to family and friends."

"I had an excellent experience with [Company Name]! After a tree fell in my backyard, they came out the same day and handled everything with efficiency and professionalism. The team was incredibly polite and used a chainsaw to quickly cut up and remove the tree. Their fast response and friendly service made a stressful situation so much easier. "Mario and his team are phenomenal and I cannot recommend them enough. He and his team are professional, hardworking, and knowledgeable. He turned our 3/4 acre plot from a â scary jungleâ (as one neighbor called it) into a beautiful park-like oasis. We hired him to clear our yard and cut down/remove several large trees that were close to the house. This was a huge project! He brought a team of 5 for 5 full days. We just bought the house, and the yard had been allowed to overgrown unchecked for nearly a decade. It was a completely impassable jungle of blackberries, invasives, and weeds. It was impossible to walk to or see many parts of the yard because of the blackberry and ivy and holly and bamboo and overgrown things. Mario has extensive knowledge of trees and plants. He was able to identify the beautiful shrubs, fruit trees, and plants that a previous owner had planted years ago and rip out the invasives that were choking them. Mario also took down several large trees that were too close to the house and had already damaged the gutters. We had a wonderful experience and would absolutely hire Mario again. We cannot thank him enough for transforming our yard!"

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

The best disposal method for hazardous waste is recycling or donation, if possible. That way, the world can reduce its consumption of raw materials and the volume at which materials have to be treated and disposed of. If recycling or donation is not an option, most waste can be disposed of through landfills or incinerators, but their collection and treatment are separate from regular day-to-day waste disposal.

Some companies offer hazardous waste removal, but additional fees and special handling procedures may be required.

The best way to remove lead paint is by wet hand sanding and removing all dust and residue with a HEPA vacuum. Professionals may also strip and scrape lead-based paint with a paint scraper. In some cases, you may choose to have a pro encapsulate or enclose your lead-based paint surface by covering it with a sealant or a new material. You may also choose to replace the material altogether.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

You should ask a few questions to ensure that your potential lead removal professional is experienced and qualified to handle lead-paint abatement safely, legally, and properly.

  • What are your qualifications and experience removing lead-based paint?

  • Are you licensed and certified to remove lead-based paint?

  • How do you test for lead paint?

  • What methods do you use for lead-based paint abatement?

  • What do you plan to do with the hazardous material when you remove it from the home?

  • Do you do replacement and painting work or removal only?
