Brock's Heating, AC & Gas Services, LLC specializes in the repair, maintenance and installation of propane heating, water heating, and space heating systems.

"I used Brocks’s to install a 4-head 36,000BTU heat pump system and a new high-efficiency boiler for back up heat and hot water. I got estimates and Brocks was our best quote. The installs went smoothly and the projects both work as they should. A great experience overall."

The best in the Business!! Kevin and his team take pride in doing the best work for everyone. Especially Angie's List members in or around Burlington, Vermont! We do not work in or around Plattsburgh/Peru, New York.

"Left a slow leak under my kitchen sink. Came back 3 times and still didn't fix it. Shortly before Christmas 2023, Kevin said "I'll come myself, tomorrow at 10 a.m." Never heard back from him again. There is a puddle under my kitchen sink. Incompetent and unprofessional."

Brand - Maytag. Additional service areas - Burlington, South Burlington, Winooski, Colchester, Cambridge, Charlotte, Essex, Essex Junction, Fairfax, Ferrisburgh, Grand Isle, Hinesburg, Huntington, Jericho, Jonesville, Milton, Monkton, North Ferrisburgh, Richmond, Shelburne, Starksboro, Underhill, Underhill Center, Westford, Williston, Keeseville, Peru, Port Kent, Westport, Willsboro.

"Not trustworthy. Hired them twice and both times they padded the bills. When I called the manufacturer of my heating system to inquire as to how much the replaced valve would cost they said that my system didn't even have such a valve, and then gasped loudly at how much E&M was charging me for it. Had to call and argue with their billing department (self-righteous and rude) for inconsistencies in the bill both times. It's a shady business. I'll never hire them again."

Gas Leak Repair questions, answered by experts

If your home uses more than one gas appliance, you'll continue to use gas, even outside of the heating season. Your water heater, gas stove and oven, and gas dryer will all use some gas, although typically much less than a furnace. Additionally, those appliances may also have a pilot light that is lit continually, using a small amount even when no one is at home.

Temporarily capping a gas line—for renovations or during travel—doesn’t require a permit. If you plan to remove a gas line and cap it completely, you’ll need to apply and pay for one through your town or city. Depending on your region and its local codes, you may pay between $25 and $100. To avoid a gas leak or other hazards, some cities take the job of permanently adjusting or capping a gas line out of the hands of homeowners. Instead, they require hiring a professional gas plumber.

In most cases, a flexible steel hose connects your gas line to the wall. This process is typical if you are replacing your gas stove or if the old pipe has worn down. However, always leave this job for a professional plumber. Errors can be very dangerous, so it's worth calling a professional to take a look.

Sometimes. While many traditional homes use copper, galvanized steel, PVC, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), and PEX, mobile homes will typically use PVC, CPVC, or PEX. These materials are more flexible, easier to work with, and handle colder temperatures.

This is a matter of personal preference, as each method has its own pros and cons. Oil furnaces are safer, but the smell can be off-putting to some consumers. Oil is also more expensive than gas. However, oil furnaces boast a higher BTU rate per hour, so a smaller amount of oil can heat a larger space when compared to a gas furnace.
