Thanks to the team at Quality Remodeling. 5-Star service is what you get from this company and their prices are more that great if you are like me and didn't have the largest budget. "Mahati came to our house to redo our shower, put down flooring, install a new toilet and set a vanity. He was punctual every day and the first day he set up coverings on our floor. Every day he cleaned up all his tools and materials. Mahati’s work is excellent and asked us if he needed to know how we wanted something to look. We are extremely happy with our new bathroom and will recommend this company to anyone looking to have their bathroom remodeled. We are giving Renken Remodeling a well deserved 5 star rating."

"The owner of Tidewater Pro-Build, Trey, contacted me within a day. He listened to my concerns and dispatched Kevin and Steve (the shower door pros) to handle the job. Both men were on-time, looked and acted professional in my home from start to finish. Kevin listened to our concerns, provided us with his professional opinion and he & Steve executed the job with ease. Our bathroom looks great! The shower door shuts perfectly, allowing no water to seep through, the baseboard trim looks great- flush against the wall and the angled cuts that we couldn't do look great! Kevin came up with a plan to fix our barn door which not only provided us with the privacy we were seeking, but he added trim and additional wood around the frame that looks great with the existing trim we had in the neighboring room. I am so pleased! They even cleaned up after themselves, ridding the area of debris and sweeping the floor. I would highly recommend Tidewater Pro-Build to anyone looking to remodel or fix a DIY project gone wrong."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

If you try a drain snake and various DIY methods for unclogging drains to no avail, bring in a professional plumber to assess the situation. Also, if multiple drains in your home are backing up or you smell sewage, a visit from a plumber is best. You can expect your drain cleaning costs to fall around $250, and this can include an assessment of what’s caught in your plumbing and if there’s a larger, underlying problem. You should also consider calling a pro if you need to snake a toilet, as DIYing this could lead to a cracked fixture.

It can take anywhere from half an hour to a few hours to fix a main line clog, depending on the cause and severity of it. The job should not take more than a day to complete. Keep in mind that the main line is not the same as your home’s sewer lines (which connect to the main line and run to your house). Your city is responsible for any clogs or damage to the main line itself.

A two-way cleanout can help if there’s already a clog, but the best strategy to prevent one is by not rinsing grease, oil, or fat down your drains, not flushing or rinsing coffee grounds or egg shells down your drains, flushing only human waste and toilet paper (so no diapers, period products, bathroom wipes, or paper towels), and using drain guards on all of your drains.

No, it is not advisable to spray pesticides down the drain in your home. Most drinking water and wastewater treatment systems are not properly equipped to remove pesticides. Should pesticides infiltrate waterways, they can cause harm to plants, fish, or other living things. In most areas, pouring pesticides down the drain is illegal due to the potential harm it causes.

It’s possible to snake minor drain clogs yourself, provided they sit within a foot or two of the drain itself, but it’s usually best to hire a professional plumber regardless. Even experienced DIYers have a high chance of accidentally pushing the clog further into the drain using a drain snake or another tool, so hiring a plumber is the ideal course of action. A professional plumber can use camera equipment to locate and identify the clog, and remove the entire blockage to fix your issue permanently.
