They were able to provide a quote for us over the phone (no one had to come over and sell you stuff). When they came to install the cabinets the workers were very professional and completed the job in one day less than we thought (quoted to take 3 days but ended up taking 2). They went above and beyond by fixing one of the drawers that was sagging and installed small holders on the sides of the cupboards under the sink. "We interviewed several different contractors for this work (approximately 7-8) since we knew this was going to be a large and expensive project. We felt most comfortable with Bret who took the time to understand our needs/wants and drew up a scope of the plan and a proposed layout of what we were looking for. Upon seeing his estimate, it came in on the lower end of our other contractors and based on his good reviews, we decided to move forward. Based on getting permits, the start of the job went very quickly. We have gotten quite a bit of work done in our home and have to say that Bret's crew were very professional, knowledgeable, and did very high quality work on what was done (I wish I had gone with Bret and his company for other past projects). A big plus was as we move forward with the project, we had several design changes done and Bret and his team were willing to accommodate the scope which was very helpful. While the project was going on, we also had a baby born and all the meanwhile, no interruptions in the work nor much of our time was needed to keep things going. As mentioned, our project was turn-key so his crew did everything including framing, drywall, plumbing, flooring, painting, all finishing touches to the end. What started as a basic job became a highly custom job but Bret and his team were up for the task. We are thrilled with the end result and glad we get to enjoy it with our friends and family for many years to come. In fact, everyone that has come by our home and sees the basement thinks it is really good work. This coming from someone that is very meticulous and particular. Whether we had a very minimal job or a high-end custom job, I would be confident to go with Bret and his team for the job."

"Great! He arrived on time, with the right amount of crew, tools and positive attitude! He was very experienced with Ikea cabinets and knew when we had purchased the wrong items. He also knew when to send me back to Ikea for different parts. Ikea made alot of mistakes and he knew that was common. He wrote down the numbers of the items i needed which was extremely helpful. He and his crew were fantastic and i would hire him again in the future. His prices were very reasonable and i appreciated that. I had two glass doors that were on back order so he said i could hold back $200 from his pay until they czme in. I called him on Sunday and told him i just picked them up. He told me they would be there on Monday morning to finish the job. Of course he arrived on time and he finished the job quickly. Of the 4 companies i hired to do various things in my kitchen his was the only one i didnt have issues with. I asked him to install the lights inside and underneath the cabinets and install the microwave. The lights were difficult but he worked hard until they were done. They make the whole kitchen shine! He was extremely reasonable with the microwave installation price. I asked him for several cards and already passed them out to people that wanted a new kitchen i told them he is the best installer i ever hired. He made this overwhelming project so much easier."

"Do NOT waste your time and money with this company. All four of the projects I hired Handyman Connection of Winchester to complete for me resulted in no-shows or having to re-schedule at the last minute, which resulted in me losing days and pay from my job. The straw that broke the camel back concerns two projects - deck stripping/refinishing, and replacing pressure-treated handrails and pickets. The deck stripping/refinishing had to be postponed until spring - at me on the decision - because the guy got sick at the last minute the previous fall and Handyman Connection had no one else to complete this job. When the finally commenced the following spring, the guy arrived with a burned-out pressure washer. He asked to use mine, to which I agreed, and just as he was finishing up stripping the deck he also burned out MY pressure washer. Do you think he said anything to me? No! I found this out later that same year when I attempted to use it to pressure wash my sidewalk ... it was completely dead. When the guy came back a few weeks after the deck had a chance to dry out, he applied two EXTREMELY HEAVY coats of deck paint over a two day period. The result ... by late winter/early spring, the paint was chipping, bubbling up and peeling off in long strips. Just prior to the deck being painted, and the second project I referred to above, an installer came out to my house to install Trex top-of-the-line railing and pickets, which I had already bought. He was to also build a gate leading from the deck down to the yard, for which I also purchased the materials. Well, according to the owner of this company, Bryan, the installer messed up the gate and Bryan indicated I would have to have another estimate drawn up exclusively for the gate. The gate was part of the initial estimate, but to date, I did not agree to another estimate and therefore, I never did get the gate - which was one of the main reasons I wanted new railing and pickets, so I could contain my pets to the deck during pleasant weather. And with regards to the rails, within six months each section of the Trex railing began to swag down in the centers. Over the next TWO years, I kept reporting this (as well as the shoddy deck paint job) to Handyman Connection via e-mails, phone calls AND also paying personal visits to the company. I was assured by Tiffany, the owner wife, that Bryan would most definitely come out to my house, survey the problems and fix them to my satisfaction. To this day, I have not been contacted by Bryan or Tiffany in an attempt to address these issues. I had a relationship with Handyman Connection for over three years - despite the no-shows and last-minute cancellations by Handyman Connection (there is a horror story for each of the four projects). I trusted this company, gave them repeated business, and referred them to many people. I make it a point to mention to anyone looking for a contractor for projects around their homes to NOT contact Handyman Connection. I have"

"I bought an Ikea armoire and wanted it to match my bedroom furniture. I was told that it was difficult to make changes particularly painting Ikea furniture. I was pleasantly surprised when Metropolitan restoration Center offered me a reasonable price and more than delivered. Saying I'm pleased is not enough for the results. I have a very nice looking cabinet that matches quite nicely with the rest of my furniture. All of this done at a reasonable price!"

We managed to break a lower kitchen cabinet door by walking into it when it was open.  The framing wood was split, and in one place the front panel lamination was torn. I took it to Mr. Kim, and he repaired it so well that you would have to know the defect was there and look very hard to realize that it had ever  been damaged. He also gave me an Angie's List discount. This wasn't fine furniture, it was a builder-grade cabinet door made of a thin plywood slab with an oak frame.  My only slight complaint was that he didn't call me when it was ready, but I had just gotten busy and hadn't called him back either. It is a little hard to find his office in the business park because it is congested and my GPS was a little confused, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back to Mr. Kim with any furniture of any quality/value in the future.
