"I did not price other bathtub replacement companies so I do not know what the average going rate is. I'm guessing they are competitive. Still, It is not inexpensive. Nate and Trevor did a great job."

"They are a little expensive but they are well worth it.  One of the workers is a perfectionist, and wanted to get everything just right and I appreciated that. I have been using them for a number of years. They treat you the way they are suppose to be treated."

"The contractor came immediately and stopped the leak.  Though it is disputable as to what the problem was - my son said it was from the shower bath connections and he has done a lot of work with pipes himself, they did stop the leak and I have tested it.  It seems to be okay now.  They did not charge me for this.  And they told me to call them immediately if anything came up.  I appreciate their quick response and would like to applaud them for this."

"The team from Tiger C Construction were professional and completed my French drain install quickly (they actually installed it on a holiday and didn’t charge me extra!). The job was completed just before a rain storm and the drain proved itself quickly. Hiring the Tiger C Construction will leave you happy with not only the work they complete for you but the workers as well."

"Excellent service for a virtual format. Would definitely recommend this very affordable alternative to the traditional technician having to come to your home to evaluate and fix a malfunctioning appliance."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

The most common situation in which you should turn off the main water shut-off valve is if there’s a leak in your home, such as in the kitchen or bathroom. Turning off the water supply can prevent further water damage.

You may want to turn off the valve before leaving for an extended period, in case of leaks or pipe bursts while you’re gone. If you’re going to work on plumbing fixtures or appliances, it’s also a good idea to shut off the main valve to ensure no water flow during repairs or installation.

The key difference between a standard spigot (or regular hose bib) and a frost-free hose bib is its design to prevent freezing and pipe bursting during cold weather. A standard spigot is a basic outdoor faucet. In contrast, a frost-free hose bib has a longer stem that extends into the heated interior of the house, placing the shut-off valve inside where it's protected from freezing temperatures. This design, often combined with a downward-sloping supply pipe, ensures water drains out of the faucet body when turned off, preventing ice formation. This allows you to leave the water supply on year-round without the risk of pipe damage, making it a valuable choice for regions with harsh winters.

Almost all plumbers have emergency service options and 24/7 numbers you can call for service during off-hours like in the evening. But be careful before you dial: Plumbers will charge extra fees for off-hour services, even if the cost isn’t quite as high as a weekend visit. Expect to pay around 1½ times more than the usual rates for plumbers in your area for off-hour calls.

On average, it takes four to eight hours to install a pedestal sink. However, several factors will influence how much time it takes to install a pedestal sink, including:

  • A replacement will take longer to put in than a new install

  • The size and weight of the pedestal sink—a pro may need an apprentice for help

  • It will take longer to change the sink type vs. replacing the pedestal with a duplicate

Pipes should be inspected regularly so you can catch any red flags early on. Common issues that you might run into with your pipes include clogs, damage like cracks and leaks, corrosion, or other signs of wear. When you stay on top of an inspection schedule, you'll avoid costly problems like burst pipes.
