Brian was very professional and was able to resolve the issue quickly. However, it was a simple circuit that had 3 outlets supported by a 4th outlet that was a GFCI. I just purchased the home and was not familiar with this type of set-up. So when the 3 outlets went out we did not know there may be a 4th that had a reset button (which was in the garage). Brian found the issue reset the GFCI, and explained the problem and possible future safety hazards. The reason I did not give 5 stars and not 5 is because he charged me $200. I thought that was a bit high considering. I will use him again in the future and have already referred him to a friend.

"I'm sorry you feel I over charged you. We discussed what the fee was going to be over the phone before I came which you agreed to. I did resolve your issue regardless of the simplicity. A lot of people do not realize that we are charged fees by Angi for these job leads. And also I drove from Portsmouth which is a half hour away. if I didn't charge my minimum fee I wouldn't make any money. I hope you understand. Thanks."

The young man who answered our request was very polite, prompt, and honest, but he didn't have any idea how to repair our generator. We've been forced to take it to a shop. We were very disappointed.

"Generator repairs aren't in my scope of work and I had to get that straight with Homeadvisor so they wouldnt send me anymore of those jobs. I did attempt to fix it. I checked the spark plug,oil,gas and the carburetor but it was beyond that. So I did have an idea but I didnt have the means to tear the generator apart because its not my specialty. I did however transport the generator and a lawnmower to a repair shop for them because they didnt own a truck. Really disappoints me that they would give me such a negative review after doing that for them. Can't win them all."

This guy was very unethical. He insisted on NOT providing a written contract, stating the job was so small that it wasn't required. The service had to be done in two stages. He took the full payment after the first stage and then said I would have to pay more for him to come back and complete it. He damaged my finished walls beyond what was necessary to get the job done and ran the wires on top of the rafters that would be receiving a floor so I had to reroute the wires through the rafters myself. The city inspector at the rough-in inspection told me that his work, though to code, involved some of the worst professional practices he'd ever seen. I believe that if I was a man he would have not tried to scam me like this. Shame on me for not insisting on a written agreement and for being alone in the house with this guy. I felt afraid to confront him about his change in price and the quality of his work because he was so aggressive when he told me he'd need more money to come back and finish his work. I still need this job completed but I am wary of using Home Advisor for recommendations.

"I in no way insisted not using a contract. She wanted the work done asap which I did the following day. She was the one who said not to worry about a contract. And I reduced my original price by 800 dollars. The service I provided for her/kitchen remodel does have to be done in 2 stages. The city has to do an electrical rough- in inspection to look at the wire before the walls can be covered and then a final inspection when switches outlets and fixtures are installed which requires a second trip to complete. Thats how construction goes and she acted like she understood that when I explained it to her and accepted that there was going to be a"

Feels like I was overcharged for the work that was actually done (5-10 minutes in my house).

"This customer had a circuit that had no power. I informed the customer when I spoke to him on the phone that the fee would be $175 to come out and fix the problem. So I came out and the customer had a GFCI receptacle that was tripped out. Not my fault he didn't know that. Regardless I lived up to my end of the agreement and rightfully charged him what he agreed upon."
