"Gerald was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable about the type of system that would best fit our house and worked with us on what we wanted. Gerald started the job quickly and was only delayed due to other contracting issues. He was very patient working with us in between new siding and drywall and made sure he was available when the other contractors were through with other issues. Gerald?s work was neat and tidy. And pricing was definitely fair. We high recommend The Air We Breathe for your heat and air needs!"

"They had to come out twice to do cleaning as after the first attempt there were still many stains on furniture. There were still stains after second cleaning so maybe they were permanent. In the future, communicating that residual stains are probably permanent would change our perspective from the service being deficient to the stains being indelible."

"My Mother is 91 years old and her air conditioner went out. One of your technicians, JOE BIGO came and gave my Mother a estimate on a new unit. Joe was very polite and very professional. Joe went out of his way to work with us so my mother can get another air conditioner unit. You all are coming next Thursday (20th) to install her unit. Excel is the only ones that my husband and I have service our air and heating in our home. We are always very satisfied with yals service. Thank you Joe for coming out and working with us for my Mother. She is excited about getting her new unit.My Mother also thanks you Joe.We really appreciate every thing you did. You made her day. Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

No, you should not attempt to replace an AC evaporator coil yourself. This is a complex task that must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. The process involves handling hazardous and flammable refrigerants, which poses significant safety risks. Attempting a DIY replacement can also cause further damage to your HVAC system and will likely void its warranty. It is necessary to hire a local AC repair professional for this job.

The cost of annual maintenance depends on the type of HVAC system you have. AC service typically costs an average of $200 but ranges from $100 to $550. If your system needs repairs, the price will vary significantly depending on what needs fixing. However, addressing the issues as they arise can prevent further damage to your unit and keep it operating efficiently for much longer.

A common HVAC rule is that for every 500 to 600 square feet of living space, you need 1 ton of heating or cooling capacity. Now that you know this common rule, you also need to know that it isn’t very accurate, and a dedicated pro wouldn’t use it for your home. If you talk to a pro who won’t or can’t perform a proper Manual J calculation, consider hiring someone more thorough.

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers, or ASHRAE, sets the standard guidelines for air changes per hour in homes and businesses. The International Residential Code, or IRC, also sets ACH requirements for residences and bases those requirements off of ASHRAE standards plus climate specifics related to your location.

Most HVAC surge protectors last about three to five years, depending on how often your home experiences blackouts or brownouts. If your unit is susceptible to more frequent electrical surges, consider replacing your surge protector every two years. Consult your HVAC professional to determine when and how often to replace your HVAC surge protectors.
