"Ray is very professional and goes above and beyond what you ask him to do. He is good at recommending what is best for your specific situation. Ray installed a rather complex French drain system at my property which has fixed a water issue I had in my basement. I also had several mulch beds put in and Ray was very good at recommending which plants, bushes and trees are good for specific areas. In addition Ray took down several large trees at my property, removed the stumps and cut the wood into splittable size logs. All together, I am very pleased with Rayâ s Tree Service and Lawn care and would highly recommend it. Very fair pricing as well. Ray takes pride in his work and in doing a professional job, more so then larger landscaping companies in my opinion. Hire Ray, heâ ll treat you right and do professional work at a fair price!"

"Peter arrived at agreed on time, went over the three areas (remove brushy weeds, weedeat, clean weeds from around propane tank and clean up residue.) It took 3 hours on a hot humid day using cuutters for thumb thick brush and a tarp to collect cuttings. He did it well and even picked up trash blown out of passing vehicles without being asked or told to do so. I plan on using him again as I am 77 and not able to do this type of yardwork any more."

You may need to lay sod on the areas you dug up once you get the okay from the contractor. It will take about 30 to 45 days for the sod to take root. Consult a local sod installer to get an accurate estimate of the timeline of your specific yard-enhancement project.

Many ways to landscape a steep slope on a budget exist. Avoiding expensive retaining wall construction is the first step. Consider creating a rocky slope with boulders or large stones, or think about planting perennials that return every year with a single investment. Transplanting small trees from elsewhere on your property is also possible and can help to stabilize steep slopes without purchasing new ones.

If you choose to leave gaps between your pavers, you can grow some ground cover plants between them for an organic feel. Look for plants such as creeping thyme, dymondia, jewel mint of Corsica, or clover.

Most bamboo can send roots down two to three feet into the ground. However, when stopping bamboo from spreading, the focus is on the runner roots or rhizomes. These roots are much shallower, staying 12 inches or less from the surface, so they’re easier to find and remove. But if you want to remove the bamboo entirely, you’ll have to dig out the full root system.

The most important thing to put under a rock garden is the appropriate soil. The specific soil needed will depend on the type of plants you’re growing as well as the environment you live in. You can also put non-woven or woven fabric under the rocks to add to the garden's structural stability.
