"Outstanding, very happy with overall product. Final product is very neat and clean, and will improve overall quality and value of my house. Initially provided quote requiring no down payment. Quote was $2K less than similar company, whose quote did not include the structural repairs. Policy changed requiring 30% down payment at contract signing, but honored initial quote of no down payment. Honored $300 coupon. Agreed to more powerful dehumidifier than quote to ensure adequate coverage per manufacturers recommendation. Installed girder entire length of house at no extra cost, though quote was for slightly over half the house. When drywall cracked after jacking, had painter respond next day to patch and paint. Collaborative final inspection. Had worker come back after inspection to tape minor rips in moisture barrier, and left extra tape. Took split payment, check and credit card. Cleaned up every day, had access to crawl space daily normally without requiring access to house. Trustworthy. Feel like they will be responsive if there are any issues in future."

"I manage rental properties. I came in contact with Ace through Home Advisor. This was after I thought I had someone to do the work, that person never showed. So I signed up through Home Advisor. Ace called me right away, they came out the next day. I decided to use them only because I was in a severe time crunch to get the work done. That was a great decision. They had 3 days to complete inside and outside work. They did vinyl trim work around the whole property. They had to take down gutters that had rotted out before they even started. Once David took down the gutters there was a lot of rotted wood, they replaced all this first. I had to keep pictures for records and wish I could put these on the review because there was so much wood that had to be replaced. Two entry doors were installed, along with a garage door. The inside work was just some small jobs. They worked on Saturday and Sunday to get this job done in the time fram I needed. I plan on using them for other rental properties I manage as well as my own home. I would recommend Ace as well as Homeadvisor."

Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts

A good SEER rating for an HVAC system is typically between 15 and 20. However, minimum requirements vary by location; HVAC systems in northern states must have at least a 14 SEER rating, while those in southern states need a minimum of 15. For the highest possible efficiency, look for units with a SEER rating of 21 or higher. It's important to remember that a SEER rating represents the maximum efficiency a unit can achieve, not the level at which it will operate at all times.

Energy-efficient windows are judged on their performance according to a few different factors, including heat transfer, air leakage, light transference, and condensation resistance. If you're unsure whether a window is energy-efficient, look for an ENERGY STAR® label from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). If various products, including windows, meet energy-efficiency standards set by the federal government, the EPA issues this label to help consumers identify energy-efficient products.

Yes, Tesla Powerwalls are worth the upfront costs, as you can recoup your investment within six to eight years. Plus, they provide peace of mind that you'll have power during a power outage, and, depending on the system you install, you can become energy-independent. While they may be more expensive than other solar power systems, they offer higher battery capacity and lifespan.

Home power is measured in kilowatt-hours, commonly expressed as kWh. The average home uses between 800 and 1,000 kWh per month. Peak usage (and highest bills) occurs in the middle of summer and the depths of winter. Keeping on top of your usage during these crucial months will lower your annual average usage considerably.

Provide utility bills and clear access to all areas of the home, including the attic and basement.
