"We found evidence of termite infestation. They responded quickly and inspected property the following day. Price was reasonable and employee was knowledgeable. He explained scope of work and options thoroughly. We added pest control as additional price was very reasonable. Work was performed the following day and we are satisfied with service."

"Terminix was quick to respond and to get out here for a termite inspection, which is what we needed. However, they signed us up for pest control and said their agent would be out to care for us right away. So far haven’t seen him yet. Will give 5 stars if that turns out well."

"So after the crawl was all done, they sent an inspector.  The inspector pulled apart some plastic and found old plastic.  I didn't realize they did that and went down and found the rip.  I was very upset.  But they knew about it already and planned to come redo the work and remove the old plastic as promised.  I inspected a lot of the crawl and didn't find any more attempts to conceal trash or old plastic.  Keep in mind with any contractor regardless of angies list reviews you have to research the project, understand what is supposed to be done and observe throughout the process.  Sorry but its the reality.
Unfortunately, crawlspace encapsulation doesn't work very well, at least not in my old house.  My hygrometer sensor shows humidity as high as 80% especially during these rainy, high humidity summer days.  Short of another huge investment in a commercial grade dehumidifier, your crawl will still be humid.  When it is colder outside then inside my crawl, I open the crawl door to let the moisture out which helps and place chicken wire and screen to keep out animals.
On the plus side your crawl will be colder/warmer depending on the season.  Mold/bacteria/mildew also need warmth to grow well, I am an operating room nurse and microbiology is important to us in the OR.  We keep the OR between 68-72 degrees F for this reason and ideally 30-60% humidity.  I try to keep the crawl at 68 and below to discourage microbial growth.  It also discourages insect life which is a positive, I rarely see spider crickets which used to be everywhere before the encapsulation.
Overall I am glad I did it for the temperature control.  It also has modestly reduced my HVAC use as heat rises through the floor and into my home.  A colder crawl in the summer helps prevent that.

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

Certain strong smells may help repel bats, though this is not a foolproof method and is best used in conjunction with other deterrence strategies. Scents like peppermint oil, eucalyptus, cinnamon, cloves, and mint are often suggested as natural remedies. To create a spray, you can mix two cups of warm water with half a cup of sugar and a few drops of your preferred essential oil. Apply this mixture using a spray bottle to possible entry points and throughout the affected area, such as an attic. While this home remedy is popular, evidence supporting its effectiveness is limited.

DIY animal removal is rarely a good idea and is not advised for many reasons. First, these types of animals can carry diseases and, therefore, pose a health risk to you, your family, and your pets if mishandled. Second, depending on your city or municipality, it may be illegal to remove or handle wildlife yourself.

Sealing your home against these animals yourself is also a bad idea. Trapping an animal under your house will cause odor and insect problems when it passes away.

Pest control and wildlife removal are different services. Pest control specialists typically handle insects and bugs, often using chemicals and poisonous sprays for extermination. Wildlife removal professionals, on the other hand, focus on larger animals. They prioritize humane methods like trapping and relocation, using poison only as a last resort. For insect problems, contact a pest control professional; for issues with other animals, an animal or wildlife removal specialist is the correct choice.

Removal typically takes 1-3 days. Sealing entry points and cleanup may require additional time.

If you’ve had a prior bat infestation or simply want to avoid having bats invade your home in the first place, there are a few steps you can take without the need for a pro.

  • Seal entry points, such as where your chimney meets your house, or other gaps or holes exist.

  • Use bat deterrents like bright lights or ultrasonic devices to force them away from your home.

  • Reduce bat attractions like standing water and bird nectar feeders inviting bats into your yard.
