"My chest freezer broke down and I did not want to buy a new one since I could not afford the same size. I reached out to appliance parts pro and they were confident that what I ordered would fix my problem. $200 in parts later and I now have a broken freezer on my porch and am still paying the loan to this terrible company. They just want you to order parts and try them because they know you can't return them. I hate this company with every fiber of my being and will make sure that anyone that has a broken appliance will not use them. To top it off, their site is so screwed up that it give you an error trying to log back in. I ended up having to create THREE different accounts because every time I went to place a new order, it would not let me login and it would not send a password reset email. DON'T GET RIPPED OFF."

"Everything went very well. The office staff (Karen and Trevor) and measurer (Albert) were very easy to work with and they answered all our questions before we started the job. When Albert did the measurements, he explained what could happen given our situation with the backsplash tile and the installer (Roberto) said the same thing before his crew started the installation. Roberto and his crew did an excellent job and was able to work with the backsplash situation to make everything fit and look great without having to remove any of the backsplash tile. It was nice to have an installation crew who were very experienced and knowledgeable and had all the right tools and supplies to do the countertop installation and the plumbing to install both sinks. "This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

Dishwasher Installation questions, answered by experts

Dishwashers should be cleaned a minimum of once every 3 months, but really it should be done monthly. This is to prevent germ buildup and will help keep your machine running smoothly. Dishwasher maintenance isn’t too difficult, you’ll simply clean the filter, wipe down the spray arms with vinegar or rubbing alcohol, and run the cycle on empty. If there is any debris, you can remove it with a small metal pick. Do not use wood as the tip can break off inside the machine.

Some signs that your dishwasher is going out include:

  • The door no longer latches 

  • Dishes are still dirty after a cycle 

  • Dishes are cold after a cycle 

  • Rust inside or outside the unit 

  • Cracks inside the dishwasher tub

  • Water collecting at the bottom or outside the unit

If your dishwasher is not energy-efficient or is older than 10 years, you should also consider replacing it. Repairing an older model may be more expensive than replacing it with something newer and more energy- or water-efficient.

You should follow the instructions listed on the detergent packaging and in your dishwasher user manual. Often, this means inserting the tablet or pod into the detergent dispenser (and not in the bottom of the dishwasher). If you put the pod anywhere else, it might dissolve too early in the cycle and fail to clean your dishes properly.

The correct water temperature for your dishwasher depends on the washing phase. When water enters the machine, it should be around 120 degrees Fahrenheit, but no hotter than 150 degrees. During the wash cycle, the machine will heat the water to between 130 and 140 degrees. If your dishwasher has a sanitizing cycle, the water can reach a temperature of up to 180 degrees.

Water is sitting at the bottom of your dishwasher, likely because the filter is dirty with food debris or because the drain hose has a clog. If the water is still sticking around after following the steps above, it’s time to contact a local plumber.
