"WB Lightning Rods did an excellent job installing lightening rods on our home. The owner stayed onsite the entire time to supervise the work. He took extra care to plan the rod and cable placement to ensure the proper protection and retain the aesthetics of our home. His crew were knowledgeable, polite, neat and efficient. We could not be more pleased with the results."

"Craig Collins, the owner, came over to meet with both my husband and me. We told Craig generally what we were looking for and he listened carefully. He described to us in a very upbeat manner his creative vision that would accomplish what we wanted for our lighting. He carefully explained the creative thought process and design elements that were important. My husband and I could see Craig's passion for his work and that he was an artist. We were very excited about his ideas and readily and happily agreed to his proposal. Additionally, we felt that his price that he quoted us was very reasonable. On the date promised, Craig's son, Craig Jr., who works with his father (which I also liked), came to our home to look at all the electrical requirements. My husband and I were extremely impressed when both Craig Sr. and Jr. returned a few days later to begin work, in pretty cold weather (it was the dead of winter). Craig is very professional and has a good old fashioned work ethic, and wanted to make his customers happy. Those qualities are pretty hard to find these days, and so we were very appreciative and really enjoyed working with Craig. The gorgeous end result makes us feel 100% enthusiastic to highly recommend Craig Collins and his company Landscape Lighting Designers Plus. His work and customer service are worth every penny. P.S. Our neighbours commented immediately on how beautiful our home looked all lit up!

"Excellent! I worked with Live Electric before and didn't hesitate to call them for this project. The timing throughout the project was tricky because we/he had to coordinate with the construction contractor and Live Elect. had to come out several times at different points during the job. Anthony and his team were extremely accommodating and worked very well with the bath contractor to plan and complete the work within the project timelines. Before and during the project, Anthony took the time to help design the lighting plan which ended up being more complex than I thought it would. He even came by with a portable power station to power up the light fixtures I had bought to help me understand/visualize the amount of light we needed in the finished bathroom. He saved us a lot of money and trouble! For example, I thought we needed and quot;layers of lightand quot;/recessed lighting in addition to vanity lights -- he advised that the recessed lights were not necessary and might even cause and quot;shadowsand quot; (and he was right!). The original fixtures I bought ended up not being enough light over the vanity and I would have been very disappointed in the end, but because he took the time to walk through the lighting with me, we switched the fixtures around and adjusted their placement and now they are perfect and we are very pleased with the overall lighting in the bath.
Live electric took the time to cover their path with drop cloths (stairs, hallways, entry to attic, etc.) and so didn't leave a spec of dirt behind. They took all the trash away. Also, they didn't leave any damage to the new drywall (which is unusual) and so all the lighting and fans look great, placement is perfect and very professional. The lighting provided the finishing touch on our beautiful bathroom and I have Live Electric to thank for it.

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Before starting electrical projects in Pennington Gap, confirm your electrical panel has capacity for new circuits and check for any required permits. Coordinate with your utility provider about service interruptions and ensure access for service vehicles, especially if you have a long driveway. If your property uses a well or septic system, notify those specialists to prevent disruptions during electrical upgrades.

Helpful?

In VA, you can safely reset a tripped circuit breaker or replace a light switch if you turn off the power at the panel and verify with a voltage tester. In Pennington Gap’s humid climate, inspect outlets for signs of moisture or corrosion. Test GFCI outlets monthly, especially in basements or kitchens. For any issues involving the main service line or persistent electrical faults, contact a qualified local electrician.

Helpful?

In Pennington Gap, running multiple high-wattage appliances on a single circuit or using outdated extension cords can strain your electrical panel and circuit breakers. Allowing moisture to accumulate near outlets or in crawl spaces, especially during humid summers, increases corrosion risks. Regularly check for tripped breakers and keep electrical panels clear of clutter to help your system last longer and avoid preventable issues.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Pennington Gap are prioritizing surge protection and upgraded electrical panels to handle modern demands. LED lighting upgrades remain popular for energy efficiency, while whole-house generators are valued for storm resilience. Many are adding outdoor security lighting and smart home controls, and electrical wiring for home workshops or garages is increasingly requested to support hobby and work-from-home needs.

Helpful?

Electrical work in Pennington Gap can impact systems like well pumps, septic controls, or HVAC units, especially if they share circuits. After any updates, monitor for unusual noises from pumps, changes in water pressure, or HVAC malfunctions. Flickering lights, tripped breakers, or issues with security systems can also indicate that electrical changes have affected interconnected systems within your home.
