The sink would not come loose from the countertop, because the installer used construction adhesive instead of caulking, but they guys figured out a way to make it happen without damaging my countertop. Neal noticed the lever control on my new faucet was installed backwards from the factory, and carefully disassembled it and made it right without leaving a single scratch or mark on my new faucet. After everything was installed, they went over the whole thing with a fine tooth comb to be sure everything worked as it should with no leaks, including letting the faucet heat up with hot water and chill down with cold water. They left my kitchen immaculately clean around the work area and carried away all the old parts. Those three guys worked 7.5 hours, not letting a couple of setbacks deter them, finding a way forward, and left me a very happy customer. They were punctual, cordial, polite, knowledgeable and professional. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat."

Most professionals recommend that a deep well pump shouldn’t run more than 10 hours consecutively before cycling off. Overworking the well pump beyond the recommended amount can prematurely wear out your pump and burn out the motor, which means replacing it more often than you otherwise should need to. The right psi for your well pressure tank depends on the tank’s pressure settings. For instance, if yours is set to 30/50 psi (which is common), the ideal psi is 2 to 3 psi below the cut-on pressure—in other words, 27 to 28 psi. However, if it’s at a higher setting of 40/60 psi, 38 psi would be the appropriate level.

For the most part, choosing between 30/50 psi and 40/60 psi is based on your water-pressure preference. However, it can also depend a little bit on your house—if you have older plumbing, a lower water pressure can be easier on the pipes (and a bit more gentle on your well pump). 

The lower 30/50 pressure is usually enough for a single-story home, but you may want 40/60 if you have multiple stories, as the extra pressure helps water flow smoothly up to the second floor.

If your well pump gets stuck in its casing, you may be able to free it loose by gently wiggling the line or by vibrations from tapping the line with a hammer. However, if your pump is stuck in a buildup of minerals around the casing, you’ll probably have to call in a well pump contractor to get it out. They’ll likely use a muriatic acid solution—a strong, corrosive acid—to break down the minerals and free the pump loose. 

To avoid a stuck pump in the future, experts recommend a professional well cleaning once every 10 years.
