I had Short Pump Painters come out before selling our house. They took a look around and gave us advice on what should be updated for the best sell. After getting a few more quotes, we found SPP to be comparable and a good value. They came as soon as we needed them and performed the job quickly. We'll be hiring SPP for painting in our new home soon.

We had Short Pump Painters paint a handful of ceilings, one room, a hallway/staircase that was particularly difficult, and an outdoor railing. Getting the quote was fast and easy. After explaining my turnaround time, the team was very receptive and was willing to come the next day. The team worked quickly, quietly, and the outcome is beautiful. We will definitely be using them again!

I’m a general contractor and have worked with many, many contractors in the past. Don’t be fooled by the company’s professional online profile as I was. Maybe the positive online reviews were warranted at some point in the past but most certainly not now. The crew performing the work were alright overall but the management team Thiago and Carol are unprofessional, incompetent and dishonest. The professional veneer that they present with their website and initial communication- is just that, a veneer. And a thin one at that. Though the overall craftsmanship exhibited was decent, there were several missteps throughout the project. The largest one was painting the entire exterior of my home the wrong tone of white. They were given a sample to have a computerized color match performed on and they failed to do this. Instead I received an off the shelf white paint, with a slight blue undertone. Baffling how a professional painting company has no knowledge of the nuance of color- undertones, lighting, etc. Throughout the project I questioned the color and suspected they were using an off the shelf white. I asked Carol about this several times and was assured that a custom color match was done. I paid an additional $1500 for a third coat of paint because the color I sought had not been achieved after 2 coats. Ultimately I had to keep digging for them to finally admit that no computerized color match was performed. An off the shelf white was indeed used. Instead of taking accountability, they blamed Sherwin Williams. Deflection is all they seem to do. Well they weren’t even supposed to be using Sherman Williams paint. The work proposal they submitted, stated that they would be using Benjamin Moore Moorgard for the project. I requested numerous times to speak with Thiago, the owner but was never able to. Later I found out that he moved back home to his native Brazil. He says he lives in an area where there is bad network connectivity- which makes him unavailable to speak with on the phone. Yet all major project decisions still go thru him. As a concession for the color debacle, Thiago agreed to paint my porch roof free of charge. He said they’d get it done on 10/28. I called and text them the day before to confirm that they were indeed coming —crickets. Thiago has told so many lies throughout this process it’s unbelievable. This is a clown show. Save yourself the headaches, keep looking.

Excellent experience! We had our kitchen island painted and as we all know, one needs to be REALLY careful when choosing someone to paint cabinets. The work was excellent and meticulous, with great attention to detail. I promise you can trust their work!

We recently moved into a new home that required painting throughout before move-in day. We were recommend to Short Pump Painters by our realtor since we were new to town. The team were super communicators, with quick responses on text/WhatsApp and emails, and were flexible and available at relatively short notice, given that we couldn’t confirm until after closing. The team from Short Pump started just two days after closing and it was flurry of activity and organized chaos that saw the job done, and done well…a day ahead of schedule too! Carol was prompt to come and quote us on the day of closing too and was truly friendly, knowledgeable and put us at ease at an otherwise stressful time. Listening to what we wanted to achieve, she guided us on our paint choice and we were able to go choose a color at their supplier, after which they handled the rest. She also popped in a couple of times during the painting to ensure everything was progressing well and as it should. The team removed all curtains etc and prepared the walls perfectly before painting which means we have a home that looks like new and is almost unrecognizable in only the best way! I highly recommend Carol and the team at Shortpump. I know I’ll be calling on them for our next project and so should you!

We hired Short Pump Painters to do a rather large job for us and all I can say is that the entire process was EXCEPTIONAL!!! Our requests included power-wash house and deck, stain deck and floor of screened-in porch, repair / correct drywall imperfections of our newly built home (and there were plenty,) paint all interior walls (3000 sq. ft.), paint exterior columns and soffit and last but not least, give our front door a new color. There is always a bit of nervousness when one hires people to work around the house, for instance: Will they do a good job for the money I'm paying? Will they ruin anything of mine while they're working? Can we communicate and come to agreements? All of our fears were soon put to rest once the crew arrived and explained the process. Firstly, there are always one or two English speaking persons on site. There is a manager, Eric that comes by often to check on the team. They covered all wood floors, carpet, and furniture. Baseboards and window trim were taped. When they prepped the deck for stain, all surroundings areas were taped and covered w/ plastic. The interior was painted primarily by women, (as Thiago, the owner feels they are more particular in the work they do.) Our group was lead by Eric and Brenda. The rest of the team included Claudia, Magrely, Abel, Raul and Erika. The deck was power-washed by another team of two men (didn't get their names, unfortunately.) The exterior (stain and paint) was completed by Henifer and Geovini. They did a fantastic job and we are super picky people. They arrived on time each morning. The paint job was better than imagined. Everyone so friendly and easy to talk to. They respect your home and property. We can't praise this company enough. Thiago should be very happy to have such great people working for him. I would recommend this painting company (that has the ability to do so much more) to anyone and everyone I know or is looking to have this type of work done. We would definitely hire again. The service preparation on the initial attempt was rushed and done poorly. However, when we brought it to the attention of the project manager (Eric) he addressed our issues himself and personally performed repairs necessary to make the job right. It was quoted as a 1 day job but it should have been planned as a 2 day job, but ultimately ended up taking 4 days to complete due to corrections and repairs. At the end of the day, Short Pump Painters made it right and we would work with Eric and his team again!

Everything went well with Short Pump Painters. They were friendly and professional. They made sure all of my furniture was covered and protected. I felt the pricing was fair for the services and they overall did a great job. It was just the update my home needed. They painted the two story foyer and downstairs hallways. And they painted over wallpaper that was in the kitchen from the previous owner. Looks like a new home. I would recommend them and plan to use them again.

Short Pump Painters did a wonderful job painting the interior of our new home! They arrived on time each morning and the project manager was very communicative throughout the 10 day project. We had a lot of dark colors to cover including black lacquer trim / headboard. They did a wonderful job and I would recommend to family and friends!

My wife and I recently purchased a house in Henrico and wanted nearly all of the house repainted. We requested estimates from three different companies. Short Pump Painters arrived on November 24th to walk through the house for an estimate and emailed me a quote on November 30th. We chose Short Pump Painters because of their reviews, even though they weren’t the lowest bid. During the walk through for the estimate I told them I hadn’t yet chosen colors for the house and they offered us a free color consultation, which we gladly accepted and asked to schedule as soon as possible. We signed the contract on December 1st and told them there was other work scheduled later in the month and that we were hoping to move into the house in a couple of weeks. Short Pump Painters started working the Friday after we signed the contract and the team worked five days straight, right through the whole weekend, to finish the job before any of the other contractors were scheduled to start. I was really amazed and appreciative of their focus and dedication to get the work done in a timely manner. On Wednesday, the day after they finished, I walked through the house on my own and found some minor things that needed to be fixed: e.g. a section of door trim that had been missed and some large paint drips that were conspicuous from a few feet away, probably because they worked through the weekend to finish quickly. That even I took pictures of the things that needed to be fixed and I emailed them to the company. On Friday, they came out and finished everything to my expectations and even helped me move some furniture. It also turned out that when they wrote the contract there was a miscommunication and it was specified that the trim color would not be changed. This was not what we had asked for but it was what we signed. Short Pump Painters honored what we asked for and painted the trim with two coats of a different color paint for the same cost. Overall I am glad I chose the company with the better reviews. Home improvement projects never go as planned and it was great that Short Pump Painters were so flexible and accommodating. That alone was worth the higher cost.

Short Pump Painters were very professional and timely to respond throughout the entire process. In addition to painting within our desired budget they also replaced rotting cedar boards and porch light fixtures. I would recommend or hire again if needed.
