T.D.Spears Gutters

Very happy with the results. Tim provided a written estimate with details to compare apples to apples with other estimates. What I liked about TD Spears was his prompt response to initial inquiry, prompt estimate as well as the personal interaction with me. Personal phone calls and follow-ups whereas other companies strictly email. His estimate included aluminum 0.32 gutters, better warranties (20 year material and 3 year workmanship) for 6" gutters with 3x4 downspouts. I also had shur-flo leaf protection on back gutters. TD Spears was only $100 more than another contractor estimated. This other contractor's estimate was for replacement of exactly what I already had, and only a 1 year workmanship warranty. It was obvious what contractor I was going to hire.

Tom delivered what we wanted. Took his time discussing the various color options. He didn't push gutter screens, but was provided valuable input when we indicated an interest in including them in the replacement project. A couple of months passed between the time of his estimate and the time of his service, but there were no changes in price or details of the estimate. Tom worked on the job with his crew.

Tom was TERRIFIC. Reasonable price. (Less than HALF what two other outfits tried to charge me). Quality work. Excellent service. After some rain, small problem developed. Tom came promptly and fixed -- no additional charge. I would never use anyone else for gutter work.

Our house had been having issues with water leaking into our basement through the basement door due to the walk-down areaway filling up with water every time it rained very hard. After talking to several plumbers (as we thought it was the drain causing the problems), it finally dawned on us that our old gutter system wasn't big enough to handle the amount of water coming off our roof in heavy storms. The water would simply run off the roof, over the old gutters, and pour into the walk-down areaway like a waterfall! Not to mention that our landscaping around the rest of the house was getting washed out and water logged.
We called Tom and he was wonderful! He gave us a VERY reasonable estimate for a new gutter system with gutter protectors and water deflectors and was able to come out and install our new gutters in about a week! He was here for about 4-5 hours and did a wonderful job.
The best news is that even after all the rain we've been having the last week or two, we've had NO water leaking into our basement!!! Our new gutter system works like a champ! It was the best money we could have spent and Tom saved us THOUSANDS in potential plumbing costs that didn't need to be done.

Excellent

Mr. Spears and Company tightened all bolts holding the gutters to the house and replaced some with screws. They also cleaned the gutters. I was very pleased with their responsiveness, work, cooperation, quality and price. I plan to use them in the future and would recommend them to anyone needing gutter repair, replacement or cleaning. They also install gutter guards.

T. Spears was recommended by a highly rated roofer on Angie's List. He did the work within two days of my phone call to him. He replaced the old gutter with a better gutter. He manufactured the new gutter on site. Mr. Spears is very knowlegeable and professional. I highly recommend him.

We had a problem with our gutter overflowing over the front door in a heavy downpour. Our roofer recommended Tom and he did an excellent job. He arrived promptly with a helper at 8AM. They removed the old gutters and downspouts, hauled them away and replaced them with seamless 6" gutters and oversize 3x4 downspouts. They connected the downspouts to our underground drain and installed Shur-flo leaf protection. Tom told us that he would have to come back because some of the leaf protection was damaged in the box and wouldn't fit the gutter properly. He came back several days later, knocked on the door to make sure we knew who was up on the roof, and installed the missing material. We would highly recommend him.

Great Job

The only negative thing was that in some of the gutter pieces the crimpimping was not smooth. However, it was not real noticeable. Great Service. Very professional. On time for the job and quick installation. No hassles.

This is the second house we have had Tom Spears do the gutters on. We originally got Tom's name from the company that replaced our roof. Tom is a great guy to work with.....very knowledgeable and professional. Goes out of his way to give good service, and is quick and thorough. Tom personally worked on both of our houses. Our current house (built in 1974) never had gutters installed, and we appreciated Tom's recommendations on gutter size and downspout locations. Because of our roof design, there is a lot of gutter footage. Tom's pricing is really good. In both cases, it was a good bit lower than some of the bigger gutter firms in the area. Highly recommended!
