The mission of AAPCO, LC and its affiliated companies is to provide the finest quality home improvement products, installation, and service to our customers at an affordable price through the teamwork of our employees and agents. -- Additional DBA - Associated Aluminum Products Co. --

"This was a very unpleasant transaction. I'm only speaking about their gutter and gutter guard instillation. they had to do it 3 time to get it right and after one year they are back to fix clogged gutters and gutters that can't handle the water. Between the first and second instillation, I noticed they didn't replace rotted facia. They left trash all over my yard and the entire project had to be done 3 times. I have pics and videos of this if you'd like to see. Please contact me and I'm happy to share. They appear to be nice people who do shoddy work. I've attached pictures but I'd love to show videos of the entire project. Please ask and I'll share. I think better companies are out there. Save yourself the frustration and hire another company"

Sunrooms and Patios questions, answered by experts

A 12-foot-by-12-foot porch is a 144-square-foot porch. It costs about $5 to $7 per square foot to add a screen. So, you’ll likely pay between $700 and $1,000 to screen in your porch, depending on the type of screen you choose. If you’re starting from scratch, building a new 12-foot-by-12-foot screened-in porch will cost about $6,400 to $18,300.

Prefab kits like a small sunroom for around $20,000 or even a basic gazebo roof for as little as $60 can save you big over professional installation. However, you lose the option for customization, and these structures tend not to last nearly as long. As for bigger projects like a deck or patio, you shouldn’t go with the DIY route unless you’re fully prepped with the tools and know-how to get it done right. Mistakes can be frustrating and costly, so choose a pro if you’re looking to eliminate your risk of error.

Yes, a sunroom will require a permit. You may just need a general construction permit for a screened-in porch or solarium. For a three-season room with electricity and a four-season room with electric, heating, and cooling, you’ll need additional permits for each of the utilities, as well as a roofing permit.

Sunrooms can count as a living space—and therefore count toward your home's square footage—if they are properly insulated and equipped with electrical and HVAC access, as in the case of a four-season room. However, in many cases, three-season sunrooms that function more as enclosed porches will not get included in the square footage count and fall into the exterior living space category.

Sunrooms are highly customizable and are built in a variety of configurations. The size and type will largely determine the overall cost of the project. Some of the most common types of sunrooms include:

  • Three-season room: $10,000–$40,000

  • Four-season room: $25,000–$80,000

  • Glass solarium: $30,000–$75,000

  • Conservatory or garden room: $5,000–$80,000

  • Atrium: $10,000–$35,000

  • Prefabricated sunroom: $5,500–$30,000
