"Everyone needs a little Terry's Home Repairs in their life. Our oven digital display snapped off and fell through the opening. I talked to an appliance contractor [before finding Terry's Home Repairs] and he indicated that the whole control board would need to be replaced (at a cost of $430). When I asked him if he could provide a refurbished control board or if he can just resecure the existing display back to the opening, his response was "modifications" is not something he would be willing to do. At this point I began doing some research. I located Mr. Terry on Angi's List and after reading reviews and discussing the problem with him over the phone I decided to move forward. He provided an exact time he would be at the home and showed up right on time (on a separate but related note, I am really sick and tired of the 'four hour window' provided by the larger contractors - I am busy as h*** and do not have time to block off four hours of my day). Upon arrival, Mr. Terry identified the issue and provided a new bracket to secure the oven display. While there, he also fixed the exhaust fan (over the range) and also fixed a dryer vent that was coming apart. His price was fair and his work was good. I will be using him moving forward for 'odds and ends' and random things around the home. I like his background (he worked as a mechanic on a cruise ship and also worked in Alaska on HVAC related projects)."

Was able to replace the door switch on my microwave (had the OEM part in his cargo van). In the process, a separate issue with the microwave occurred (the interior dome light would no longer come on). He spent several minutes trying to troubleshoot but we could not figure out. We reached a fair agreement on price due to this unfortunate situation. He also provided a temporary fix on my refrigerator’s defrost drip tray (which was cracked and leaking). "If it was an option I would give no stars. First, they give me 10-2pm appointment then they don't show up at the appointment time. They try to be slick and not coordinate the appointment time with my home warranty company and was just verbal with me over the phone. I found out when I called my home warranty company about them not showing up and I was informed that Mid Atlantic company operates till 5pm and to give them time till 5pm. Then I call Mid Atlantic, they ask if they can come tomorrow and I said no since my dad had been waiting since 10 am. Two Mid Atlantic Techs come close to 5pm who do not know what they are doing and keep going back and forth, so I explain to them how my Furnace is tripping the power. I have to tell him step by step what is happening since they lack ability to diagnose properly, and advise them them accordingly. Tech tells me they will talk to manager if the compressor needs to be replaced but recommends outside and inside unit to be replaced and that the manager will call me back. I get a call with the manager stating he will try to have system replaced, and I told him of course it is over 17 years old. I kept reaching out to manager and he keeps saying he will call back and that he is trying to get unit replaced, but he does not call back. Eventually he stopped picking my call. I call my home warranty company and they tell me that Mid Atlantic stated that customer was rude, demanding whole unit to be replaced whereas Mid Atlantic stated that compressor needs to be replaced. I told the home warranty company that all I need is my heat working, it is freezing outside, and whatever needs to be done, I need that taken care of simple as that, and informed him of the whole scenario. I took time to write this review so no one else goes though this nightmare experience especially in this chilly weather."
