"It went great! They removed old windows, put in new windows, put trim back up. They showed me how to work the new windows. They gave me the papers near the end, but gave me time to fill them out without being rushed."

"I highly recommend Eco Windows & Siding for window replacement; we worked with Jeff and had a smooth, frank and open experience from beginning to end. He used no sales scams to try to get me to buy, but was upfront and honest. Offered us a variety of choices, from an economy option all the way to a luxury window and never pressured us one way or another; once we decided on a window line, he gave us an excellent price right off the bat, with no exhausting sales acrobatics, like the other companies who quoted us. Eco Windows clearly offered the best value for the money. The windows were ready even earlier than he quoted; the installer was kind, respectful and responsive. His team was quick, thorough and pleasant. When we hit a slight snag, both Jeff and the installer bent over backwards to make it right, and as quickly as possible. We couldn't have asked for a better company to work with for this large job."

"Paul does great work, no doubt about it. You don't realize how bad most siding jobs are until you see one down well - like American Siding did for me. Several years later, and the siding looks the same as it did when installed. My neighbor had siding put on his house at the same time I had my cottages done, and the siding is already buckled and coming off in places. You get what you pay for."

"Josh was contacted through his former employer that no longer services the area who recommended him to renovate my entire home that I see he has pictures of on his profile. He did an amazing job with absolutely everything from adding a bonus nursery, flooring throughout the entire house along with custom trim! He provided me with a completely updated home that I couldn’t be happier with. Don’t hesitate to give this man a call. He’s super kind and willing to work with you the whole way. He even installed my appliances that arrived completely free of charge!"
Couple was expecting a baby and lived in a one bedroom loft. Upon examination of home it was determined to use this awkward, fairly unused space to create a quaint little nursery that can double as an office space/extra bedroom later down the road.

Homeowners wanted to provide seperation between the kitchen area and living room area while still keeping the "open layout" feel of the house. The remedy I provided was an open pass-through wall that could double as an extra area for guests to sit down and eat.

"The guys who actually installed the siding & windows did a great job. They were professional and paid attention to every detail. They get 5 stars. The Richline sales Rep was nice enough, but led me to believe that the job would start within 3 weeks from when I signed the contract. After several calls trying to get in touch for updates, I was told different dates until they finally started almost one and a half months later. Apparently Richline has disconnected their company phones and only use their cell phones now."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Insulated vinyl siding costs about twice as much as the cheapest form of vinyl siding, but it’s still more affordable than other types of siding, including fiber cement, wood, stone, and brick. You get a lot of bang for your buck with vinyl siding; it’s durable, it’s available in a wide range of styles and colors, and it helps lower your energy bills.

Vinyl is the most common shingle siding due to its rigid PVC design, longevity, affordability, and ease of installation. The next most popular types of shingle siding are fiber cement, which is in the mid-range for prices, and cedar shake, which is the most expensive. Consider the upfront cost, ongoing maintenance costs, and durability in your specific climate before deciding.

As stunning and natural as stone siding is, it's not for everyone. Some popular siding alternatives to stone siding include:

  • Aluminum siding

  • Brick veneer siding

  • Engineered wood siding

  • Fiber cement siding

  • Wood siding

  • Vinyl siding

If you want the look of natural stone siding without the high material and installation costs, vinyl siding may be one of the best alternatives. It’s lightweight, low-cost, and low maintenance but does have a lower life span than natural stone.

While you can perform minor siding repairs or even install it yourself over small areas, it is generally best to hire a professional siding company. Siding installation is a time-consuming and complicated process that requires specialized tools and experience. Most homeowners lack the skills to ensure proper alignment, weatherproofing, longevity, and durability, especially for more complex jobs like vertical siding. The money saved on a DIY project may not be worth the time and potential risks of improper installation.

The living space of a home doesn’t correlate directly with how many square feet of siding you’ll need, but on average, a 2,000-square-foot home will need 1,700 square feet of siding or 17 squares of siding. Your siding measurements will vary depending on the layout of your home, the number of stories, the size of your doors and windows, and even your roof style.
