"It is with deep satisfaction that I recommend Grady?s Painting and Plastering & Construction. Mr. George Grady is a skilled craftsman. He was hired to correct long neglected and extensive masonry and window issues on a large, beautiful Presbyterian Church built in the Civil War era in Philadelphia. The property was neglected with only minimal maintenance performed over the last 40+ years. The building was in severe decline and in need of stabilization and restoration on many fronts. Cracked ledge plates were chipped out and reestablished, internal walls damaged by leakage were broken out and repaired, brickwork was repointed and in severe cases reestablished to original strength and beauty. Leaks around the base of the building were addressed to stabilize deterioration of the foundation. Large rotted window sills under beautiful stained glass windows were restored after significant masonry reestablishment due to water damage under the rotted out sills. Broken and missing stained glass windows are in the process of repair and replacement. The process started with new metal frames cast by Mr. Grady. The new frames will hold clear painted replications of the original stained glass, also crafted by Mr. Grady. Regular windows all around the church and manse were also repaired and restored. Roof leaks were accurately identified and repaired. A sagging plaster ceiling has been torn out and restored. All this work was done by Mr. Grady alone or with an occasional helper. He worked with care, expertise and respect for the original structure. The results far exceeded our expectations and have injected new life into a building on the brink. This building, owned by the Presbytery of Philadelphia, now houses a new urban ministry in a newly gentrifying area of the city. The glass in our aluminum framed sliding glass doors had become cloudy with moisture and mildew between the panes of glass.  I got one estimate to replace the entire sliding door units for approx. $1,500 each (or a total of $4.500).  Ouch!  Granted, you can purchase these units for $300-500 each from a home improvement center and install them yourself, but that was not an option for us.

So, I called Binswanger.  It was great!  They came out, measured and gave us a price of $1400 to replace 5 panels (they had replaced 1 of the panels several years ago, hence we only needed 5).  We felt the price was good.   The installed returned on the scheduled day, removed the old glass, installed the new, cleaned up and took away the old glass in a matter of just a few hours.  The job was done professionally; you would never know that it wasn't the original glass.

We're very pleased with the overall job and would never hesitate to call them again for any repair or replacement job.  They know their stuff!

Upon removing the concrete porch on my house, my contractor Curtis Barden found rotten wood and deteriorated block work. He suggested we call Chuck Hipp. Mr Hipp arrived that afternoon and gave me an estimate of $1250.00 and said if we prepped the area so his crew could get in and out it might be less. Curtis and I prepped the are on Tuesday and Hipp Masonry went to work the next afternoon. Mr. Hipp's crew were very professional. They did all block work after a careful inspection of the existing block for structural integrity. Not on member of the crew lit a cigarette or took any breaks, they were there to work.

After the job was done the crew removed all debris and other than the new block work you couldn't tell they were there. When I asked Chuck Hipp what the final bill was I was expecting $900.00-$1100.00. I was surprised when he said $700.00. They did a great job at an awesome price. I would recommend them to everyone I know that needs masonry work."

Everything went well.  Workers came and cleaned up.  No problems with installation.

If you want your windows done, call them.  If you are "thinking about it".  Don't call.  They will call you daily afterwards.  I had to block them from my phone as they continue to call me every 2 days for what I don't know.  Work was well but the phone calls are annoying.

"Bob was very responsive to my initial call. We set an appointment date and time. He was prompt for our appointment. Bob spent a considerable amount of time assessing the situation on my porch. He discussed his plan with me in detail. I asked for a ball-park figure and he provided one, explaining that the cost of supplies and the time needed for the repair were subject to what he found when he started the repair. Bob actually started work sooner than he had anticipated, which worked out well because he did not need for me to be home for the outside work. It took a few trips for him to finish the repair due to weather and paint needing to dry. Bob actually finished the excellent job sooner than I had ever imagined.
As for the baby gate, it was actually Bob's idea to get one. After a lengthy discussion on how to block off the puppy in the kitchen,  he said, "All you really need is a baby gate." Not only did he make a great suggestion, he actually called me shortly after he left my home and gave me the information that he had located online as to where to get the gate, the name to look for and the cost. Bob came back to install the gate for a very minimal charge.
I was very pleased with the gentleman himself and his desire to please. He was prompt, reasonably priced and definitely eager to do a good job. I actually had discussed a big  outside job for Bob to do but changed my mind. He was  very understanding and accepted my change graciously.
I have already told several people about Bob and will definitely call upon him again when I need more work done."
