You can mow the grass when it’s dry to the touch, usually between 2 and 5 hours if it was a light rainfall or morning dew. Be sure to check in shady areas too, as those can take longer to dry out.

Watering grass is a good idea when there is a drought and when temperatures are high. However, you don’t want to water in the middle of the day or if the temperature exceeds 95 degrees Fahrenheit. 

The extreme heat will cause the water to evaporate faster than the soil can absorb it. So, it’s best to water in the early morning or early evening when the temperature cools off.

In general, cool-season grasses such as fescue grass, ryegrass, and Kentucky bluegrass are best for creating a striped lawn. Warm-season grasses like bermuda and zoysia grass don't curl as much, so grass stripes aren't as easy to see. If you live in a climate that’s better suited for warm-season grass, zoysia grass will typically be your best option.

Sulfur makes grass greener as it creates a rich, healthy growing environment. It can help reduce the pH level in the soil to ensure the roots can get all the nutrients they need, such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Sulfur also makes grass denser, lusher, and stronger. It’s a soil amendment that can make a big difference in the health and appearance of your lawn.
