"I was amazed with Myers tree service. I had about 8 trees removed all within 6 hours. They were very careful around my fence and sun room. The price was great and very affordable. I would call them again and highly recommend them. They went above and beyond my expectations. Thank you again for your hard work and quality service."

We take great pride in our experience, expertise, quality, and customer service that we provide to meet the consumer's needs. It is our mission to provide excellent workmanship and complete customer satisfaction from start to completion of a project. In order to understand the needs and expectations of our customers, we take great care to work and communicate with every customer in a professional manner. Our reputation is based on service, safety, and quality, regardless of how large or small the job.

"Thomas and his crew actually were able to come in just a few days after coming to look over our project. Very knowledgeable and professional. Advised us of which trees would need to come down and how they would take care of them. They chipped all the smaller trees and branches and stacked up the ones to be used as firewood all in a designated area. His crew cleaned up and were very polite and professional. They did everything with safety and our structures in mind. I will use them again if and when needed."

"Elder and Alex came by on a Sunday for a free estimate and gave me an excellent price. They cam in on Wednesday morning, took down a 32" walnut that was 15 feet from a fence and 20 feet from my deck. They trimmed another walnut, and branches on a maple that had branches overhanging the house and the electric service. They were on time, and were extremely pleasant and professional in their work. I wanted to save some of the wood to be sawn into lumber, and they cut those pieces exactly as I wanted and put them where they will have easy access for the sawyer. Their cleanup afterward was amazing. I highly recommend Elder and Alex for any of your tree work, and in fact asked for asome business cards to share with friends."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, you should trim the lower branches of your maple tree for safety. Trimming maple trees as they grow helps lift the crown and canopy and trains it to grow straight up. A good rule of thumb is to prune enough branches to leave 6 feet of clearance under the tree.

According to scientists at Penn State University, spotted lanternflies do not typically kill the trees and plants they feed on, but they can cause branches and segments to die off. However, they have been found to kill cultivated grapes, which can have devastating consequences for vineyard owners and regions that heavily rely on vineyards to create jobs and generate revenue. They have also killed the Ailanthu altissima, known as the tree of heaven, though this is classified as a noxious and invasive weed tree.

Early signs that a tree is struggling include premature leaf shedding and lesions or other strange markings. Peeling bark, dead or rotten branches on the ground, and a conspicuous lack of leaves can all be signs that a tree has started to die. By the time a tree starts leaning, it’s usually too far gone to save.

You can use a felling ax to chop down a tree by following the same prep and steps as a chainsaw, but be prepared to use some muscle. For trees bigger than 7 inches in diameter, it can take some time and serious strength to cut down a tree using just an ax.

Completely topping a plum tree is a risky business. Cut too much, and you’ll kill your tree. That said, you do need to trim the top of your tree to encourage bushy growth, maintain your tree’s vase shape, and limit size.

A plum tree's central leader (or trunk) should never extend more than 3 feet above the highest branch. When you first plant your tree, cut the central leader so it’s 2 to 3 feet tall. As it grows, cut it back 12 to 20 inches until it reaches its desired height. Never prune more than one-third of the new growth.
