"They did perform the work, same day, very neatly, the gentleman who showed up was the owner of the service, and he was polite, professional, and accommodated the work the same day. I was in a hurry and needed to get some work done quickly; they come out and provide a quote, but indicated their minimum was $500 worth of work to take on the job when Home Advisor had indicated the work was valued at about $400. When we noted a home inspector had indicated the roof 'boots' needed to be replaced, they offered to check on the potential replacements, quote a price, then perform the work the same day. First, they offered a quote for $2,500, which seemed exorbitant for replacing two boots on the roof, then came down to $2,100, then I countered (and they accepted) for $2,000 which included the initial $500 for building the rain dam by the chimney. So honestly, I don't know if I overpaid or paid just about the right price for the boot replacements. Personally, when I review the project and the work, I think $1,000 would have a MORE reasonable price. I would recommend that dealing with ANY roofing repair company to get at least a second quote on the work before accepting the job, even if the company offers to do the work the same day."

"Josh and Eddy arrived on time (actually a week early as they had an unexpected opening in their schedule). They looked at the safety bar and hand grip bar that I had purchased and examined the shower/tub space. We discussed what the position (height and slant) of where the bars should be. Once that was determined, the ceramic tiles were measured and marked. Placement was rechecked. The holes were drilled. During drilling a small vacuum was used to gather the dust and debris from the ceramic tiles. My tiles were not chipped or cracked. The bars were screwed into the wall and the area was rechecked for any needed clean up. An Angie's List discount was applied to my bill. On the way out, they stopped and readjusted a slanted pot light in my kitchen and a cabinet door which was scrapping the ceiling whenever it was opened. All of this was done within 30 minutes. Josh and Eddy were respectful of my home, paid great attention to details, and were very pleasant to talk with. I will rely on Yorktown's Handyman to complete any needed home repairs and improvements."

"Robert called when he was enroute and arrived early. Hired him as an electrician for the day. During the day he replaced 2 ceiling fans and replaced 5 outside lights on the porch, garage, and back porch. He replaced a fuse for the ceiling fan, and changed out the front doorbell switch after trouble shooting it. He replaced a smoke detector and he replaced two light fixtures in our bathrooms. After completing all electrical work early, he gladly changed out a faucet in the powder room, and put up new 3-piece bathroom fixtures in all three bathrooms. All in a day's work. "Cougar Development did an excellent job creating a living space out of an addition to a home built in 1918. The drywall work was excellent as was the placing of needed electrical outlets and ceiling fan/lighting. Closet space is extremely hard to come by in our neighborhood and Cougar was able to build a 30 sq ft closet that our growing family is able to take advantage of. This room was just a storage space and is now a usable living area after Cougar was done with it. The quality of work for the price I paid was amazing! "Exceptional service!  We originally called Steve to ask if he could tell us if a certain wall was load bearing, as we'd never had to make that determination before, and didn't want to risk making a mistake if we took on the project ourselves.  He said he could, and we arranged a time for him to come to our house.  He was prompt, friendly, and professional, and he took a look at the wall (plus another one that we were also considering removing), and let us know that one was safe to remove, while the other wasn't.  We thanked him, and asked how much we owed him for his expert advice.  He said that we didn't owe him anything.  Since that was the only reason he'd come to our house, we were really amazed.  Out of curiosity, we asked him how much he would charge to take down the wall and get it ready for paint.  He said he'd put together a quote and let us know.  We heard back from him the same day with a quote of $1200, and said it would probably take a couple of days to complete the project.  We asked if he had a military discount, and he said he'd see what he could do.  We heard back from him very quickly, and he said he could give us a military rate of $1100.  We decided we were better off hiring him than doing the work ourselves, and made arrangements for him to come out in a week, when he had free space in his schedule.  However, a couple of days later, he called and said that upcoming rain had delayed another project, and he asked if we'd like him to come out earlier.  We said that would be great, and set up a time.  He arrived promptly on time, did the work quickly, kept our home as clean as possible during the project, and cleaned up after himself when he left.  He worked essentially 2 1/2 full days, then came back in the evening on a 3rd day to finish sanding after the mud on the drywall was dry.  His work and professionalism were exceptional.  We also asked him to take a look at an outdoor faucet, which he took apart and then explained which piece was broken and needed replaced.  He was willing to do the work, but explained how we could do it ourselves.  Because he didn't actually repair the faucet, he again refused to charge us for his advice.  The same was true for a couple of other issues in the house--he evaluated them, and told us how to fix them, then refused payment for the advice.  He was certainly willing to do the work; he just wasn't going to act like it was something that wasn't simple for us to do on our own.  We would absolutely hire him again.  He was prompt, honest, set a fair price, and did great work.  He was also an absolute pleasure to do business with.
