"Jason and his team did a fabulous job. Their customer service was fantastic. They made surely I was completely satisfied with their work. They diligently worked during a dangerously hot week and never complained. I received estimates from 5 tree services. None of them compared to Jason's professionalism and customer service. I will use them again and I have already recommended them to others. Their work was truly First Class!"

"They did a fantastic job! Great communication from beginning to end. We had them trim several tree branches off our sheds and create a canopy. They also hedged our shrubs and cut out dead branches from a smaller tree. Site was left clean and tidy."

"The crew at American Haulin Debris and Junk Removal did a very good job with removing a significant amount of tree limbs, branches, and natural yard waste from my property. Their service from the beginning with coming out to check the property for an estimate was excellent, and their price was very fair. I would rehire this company in the future."

"I called them in March and explained that we already had someone who would do the initial weeding and mulching in the spring and we just needed somebody to come on a regular basis such as every two weeks during the summer and weed flower beds and trim shrubbery. Mr. Pugh said yes, they could do that and their rate was $35 an hour. He wanted to send someone out to get an initial look at my property. So we then had an appointment with a pleasant young man who arrived on time and looked over our yard, giving some helpful suggestions on care of boxwoods, etc. I made sure he understood that we already had someone lined up to do the initial weeding and mulching, but I said he could give a price for that also in case our regular man didn't show up. Upon leaving, he said I would receive an email with their prices. I received their email, which listed what I thought was a high price for the initial cleanup and some one-time services, and then quoted an hourly rate of $40 for regular maintenance plus travel time. I called again and spoke with Mr. Pugh, reminding him that he had quoted $35 an hour in our earlier phone call. He said okay, if that's what he said before, then he'll charge me $35 an hour and no travel time since they're close by. Then he said actually, after thinking about it, coming every two weeks is probably not a good fit for them. He said they like to do the whole nine yards including the initial work and then come every week for a monthly fee. I reminded him that I had made it very clear in our first phone call what I wanted, and he apologized and said he didn't think it through at first. So both he and his representative were pleasant, but this whole thing amounted to a good chunk of my time wasted, between phone calls and the appointment with his representative. I chose not to rate them with a "D" because I sense that they might in fact be good to work with if one's needs match what they want to do. I just wish Mr. Pugh had "thought it through" before putting us through all of this."

FAQs for tree service projects in Hanover, VA

Budget over $1,500 if you need a tree removed from your yard that’s larger than 80 feet. Large tree removal is a significant project that requires a crane, and the overall price will increase if the tree is close to your house. Typically, smaller trees can cost as low as $8 per foot to remove, while larger trees (over 80 feet) can cost at least $15 per foot.

To have a fallen tree removed near your home, you can expect to pay between $100 to $500. Your local tree removal professional will most likely just need to cut and remove the tree from your property, but factors like the size of the tree and its trunk diameter impact this cost. In addition, there will be an extra cost to fill in the hole left by the tree, and while you have your tree removal specialist on-site, it might be worth it to have them inspect the other trees in your yard for potential damage. Trees that have fallen onto your home or another structure, will likely be more costly to remove

On average, removing a tree costs around $750, but you can expect to pay between $200 to $2,000. Factors that impact the overall cost include the number of trees you’re having removed, their height, the diameter of their trunks, permits needed, and the tree’s accessibility. You’ll pay more if the tree is in a hard-to-reach area or dangerous location, like close to power lines.

  1. If there are no online reviews, ask them for referrals. If a tree removal company is reputable, you won't be their first client. It's perfectly acceptable to ask for references on your initial call, and if a removal company won't provide referrals, it's time to move on.

  2. Find out what equipment they use. Some types of tree removal equipment are better than others, and a removal company might need special tools to get your particular job done. On your first conversation with a prospective removal company, make sure that you clearly express the nature of the job you want accomplished and receive assurances that the company has the proper equipment.

  3. Consider all of the costs. Always ask for an estimate up-front. Inquire about the job itself and any potential hidden fees that you might not be aware of.

Yes, you will want to confirm that the tree removal company you hire is insured before proceeding with the job. Tree removal can be dangerous work, and it's important to verify that the company carries the proper insurance to cover any onsite accidents or damage.
