"After looking at a variety of contractors and reviewing them on Angie's List and their websites, I asked two colleagues of mine who had recent bath renovations done who they would recommend. Irish Accents & Renovations (owner Val Little) was already on my short list and I had gotten an estimate from him for the work. When my friends told me that Val had done the work for them and how pleased they were with the results, I chose Irish Accents. This is a small business which focuses on one customer/one job at a time. Val Little, the owner, was onsite every day of the process. He employs two workers, Kenny and John. Val is hands on and did all the carpentry work himself. Kenny is a talented tile setter with an eye for detail. All three of them work to a high standard and are genial and happy to explain things as they went along and listen to your thoughts. They easily accept suggestions, like where to put a wall plug, outlet or light, or the pattern for the tile. If something won't work, they explain why without issue. We did two change orders as work progressed - the pocket door and the walls in the half bath. Since I suspected that we might have a leak problem in our 26 year old bath, I wanted the new floor and shower to be water proofed using Schluter products. Both Val and Kenny were qualified to install these products, having attended the required classes for contractors taught by Schluter. This did drive the cost of materials up a bit over using concrete board and a paint on water proofing. When Val opened the walls and floor around the shower, we discovered a 2 foot diameter hole in the subfloor, some rotten wall studs and floor plate, and a partially rotten floor joist. This was all repaired. They generally started work about 9 am and finished anywhere from 3 pm to 6 pm depending upon what element of the job they were working at the time. They regularly worked without taking a lunch break. They would stop at logical points, avoiding leaving an element partially done. Each day they would clean up and on Fridays they thoroughly cleaned up, including removing protective coverings on the floor and cleaning everything. They do not work on weekends. Since they were working in a first floor master, with a door to the back porch and deck, they used the back deck as a work area for cutting tile using a wet saw. This made quite a mess on the wooden deck, even though they covered it with plastic sheeting. Without my prompting, the back deck and porch were scrubbed clean of all porcelain dust and debris. In fact the deck looks better after they left than it did before they arrived. Val used the driveway for carpentry and swept and cleaned it everyday. They used our garage to stage materials and tools out of the weather and for some prep work, so half of the two car garage was not usable for parking during the entire renovation. They also used the deep sink in our garage, which proved handy for paint clean up. They used the hose and spigot in the back yard as well. As I said earlier, this is a small company with the owner onsite working. Although Val is happy to help with design and suggest places to purchase tile and fixtures, his estimate is for labor and rough-in materials only. The customer is responsible for purchasing all finish materials. Val will happily pick up any materials. He will also purchase some materials and pass the cost to the customer without markup, providing receipts. In our case this was the Schluter system materials which are available at Mosaic Tile in VB. The entire job, renovating two bathrooms, took 4 weeks. The cost listed in this review is for labor and rough-in materials only. I would highly recommend Irish Accents and Renovations to anyone doing a bath or kitchen remodel or a partial remodel. Their attention to detail is exceptional and their work ethic is admirable. They are easy to work with and do not mind daily interaction with the customer. As an aside, Val fixed our sagging porch screen door and changed the lightbulbs on the 12 foot ceiling in the garage simply out of kindness. This company will be my first choice for any future bath or kitchen remodeling."

"Very well. The water heater was replaced in under 2 hours at the lowest rate on Angi's. The service was scheduled/worked under 24 hours which was the requested timeframe. He was very knowledgeable about the systems he was responsible for and even ran a free water test afterwards."

"Wow!!!!! professionally installed new shower and tub in 6 hours. It looks nice, clean and modern. Ty ensured every step of the process was explained to me. He even took time out to ensure I took any pictures along the way. Cleaned the area upon completion and tested it to ensure it worked properly. I'm happy with how this worked and exceeded my expectations."

"I called on the weekend, and Atomic Plumbing managed to fit me in on the schedule. Plumber, Scott M., was extremely professional, courteous, and efficient. Cleaned out the line and checked carefully. Probably a simple job for a plumbing company, but the promptness and efficiency deserve high marks."

"My wife and I are very, very pleased with Tidewater Pro Build’s remodel of our master bathroom, and we are not the easiest customers to please. We had discussed a remodeling project for several years but it became a necessity when our master bathroom shower developed a leak that started to stain and drip through the ceiling of the room below it. After two different plumbers could not find the source of the leak, we knew something drastic had to happen, and that is where Tidewater Pro Build comes in. I called and left messages with several contractors and posted inquiries on several contractor websites. A few of them ignored my requests. One contractor said that most of his men lived in Virginia Beach and would not want to drive as far as Suffolk for a job. Tidewater Pro Build responded to my website inquiry in the middle of a Sunday morning. Frank, the Sales Manager said that when he saw that we were having a leak through the ceiling, he knew the job was urgent and wanted to make contact as soon as possible. Frank met with us later that day and just a day or two later, Tidewater Pro Build was at our house to troubleshoot. They had to take down the drywall around the shower to find the leak, but once it was isolated and the living room ceiling dried out, they did a beautiful job in repairing and painting the ceiling. We did a total makeover of the bathroom. Frank made some design recommendations during the initial walk-through planning. We met with Trey and Brian to develop our design and lay out our plans. Along the way, Trey made several very helpful suggestions that kept our supply costs under better control. He recommended strongly that we stick with one line of plumbing fixtures to ensure that the finishes matched throughout the room. Trey offered a very creative solution to our problem of where in the bathroom to relocate the linen cabinet. The demolition phase went very quickly. The rebuilding phase proceeded much more slowly, as they predicted it would. Quality work takes time. We needed the job completed by a wedding-date deadline, before out-of-town family started to arrive. And even though, about a week before the deadline, it looked like the project would not be finished, we had a fully functional master bathroom in time for the wedding. It was not a rushed patch-job to get the project finished; the last phases of the job were done as carefully and with as much craftsmanship as the earliest. There were a few touch-up items that needed to be addressed after the wedding and those were done on schedule. When we found a few more add-on punch list items we wanted fixed, Tidewater Pro Build did not hesitate to come to our house and correct them promptly. Sales Manager Frank even came out to inspect the project when it was completed to ensure our satisfaction. This is the kind of customer service anyone would want from their home contractor. We now have a beautiful, designer-quality, custom master bathroom that is one of the prettiest rooms in the house and one of the nicest you will ever see. I will forward photographs to Tidewater Pro Build to post on their Facebook page when we have all the furnishings and décor in place. There are a few already. My wife and I would not hesitate to use Tidewater Pro Build for our future remodeling projects. Thank you Trey, Caleb, Brian, Frank, and Kevin!"

"Harmond helped me over video link to test the components in my broken refrigerator. The testing confirmed that it was the compressor that had failed. I purchased a new refrigerator because I decided it was not worth the cost to replace the compressor."
