"VKB far exceeded out expectations for our new kitchen design and installation; as well as, the resurfacing and stain/varnish to my existing floors and stairs. My wife and I are very pleased with the final outcome. Money was well spent. Base on our experience, I would not hesitate to recommend their services again. Jack and Suzanne McClinton."

"Salesman was friendly and very knowledgable, assuring me the installation could be done even in the room under the garage with a cement ceiling. The salesman was also very accommodating when I had to reschedule the installation date due to unavoidable medical events. The workers, Matt and Scott, were awesome! They put cloth tarps over the carpeting and wore covers on their shoes to keep things as clean as possible. Ceiling tiles were carefully moved and replaced during the job and they couldn't have been more detailed and polite. During the job they would let me know what they were going to do and would check with me to make sure the placement of the units suited me. I really like that they allowed me to be involved with some of the decisions, so I would be happy with the final outcome. They vacuumed and cleaned up after the job. The only glitch we had was the salesman didn't show up at the start of the job, as he promised, due to an unavoidable family problem, which delayed Scott and Matt from starting on the first day. It was tricky feeding the tubing neatly through the wall and into the room under the garage and they needed his direction. The salesman showed up as quickly as he could, but he was visibly upset and started to blame me for holding up the job. He quickly directed his attention to solving the problem and moved on, which was more appropriate. He got the problem solved quickly and the solution was fabulous and looks great! I would highly recommend this company. Scott and Matt did a beautiful job, took their time and worked as though they were installing the equipment in their own home, with care and detail. I couldn't be happier with the results and with all the people involved. Don't hesitate to choose McCrea Heating & Air Conditioning Services of PA, LLC for your job!"

"Very well. I picked out most items I wanted and paid for them, scheduled them for pickup by Handyman. Handyman would pickup some supplies as determined in the contract. Debbie was helpful with suggestions or advise when asked. Also, always professional, timely and cleaned up afterwards. I believe all labor charges were very reasonable."

"I was getting frustrated with local electricians and home renovators - just trying to get quotes was a nightmare of un-returned phone calls, missed appointments, and general disinterest.  Then I contacted SciFiHomes.  They immediately made an appointment to visit and see what was involved.  They came exactly as promised, and in a few days provided a very detailed quote - far and away the most professional I have seen in 17 years in this area and over $100,000 in home renovation projects.

Even before the generator was in hand - I ordered it myself - Marshall and Tony came out to set the concrete pavers as the base for the unit.  On January 4, they set the unit in place.  On January 9 and 10, with propane plumbing completed and the power company scheduled to come to disconnect the mains power , they returned to do the electrical work.

The installation was done in an extremely meticulous and professional manner.  The hardest part of the job, it turned out, was re-configuring the house's main panel as a sub-panel, as required by the electrical code.  Our panel was disastrously crowded inside, the result of adding circuits piecemeal over the years.  Marshall worked until 6 o'clock in the evening, shortening, re-routing, and otherwise cleaning up the panel.  Among other things, he found one 220V breaker that had a stripped terminal, which could have resulted in a fire, or at least failure of the circuit, and replaced it with one from his stock.  The finished job looks like a *real* electrician did it, which certainly was not the case before.

The external components went the same way.  Marshall and Tony took unusual care to make sure the auto transfer switch was physically secure on our very old, out-of-square house.  They used flexible conduit to route all the necessary connections between the generator and the ATS.  They took special pains to secure wiring physically, even when it would not be seen, as a reliability measure.

SciFiHomes did all the necessary coordination with the propane supplier and electric utility, secured the electrical permit and scheduled the inspection.  Everything went off like clockwork.  When they finished the job yesterday, they made sure I knew how the generator would operate, and walked me through steps to be taken in case of any problems.

The only cost growth ($170) was due to changes we made after the original estimate and contract were prepared.

All in all, this was the best single experience we have had with a contractor in our 17 years here."

"We were very happy with JES, they were professional and punctual. I would however not recommend their subcontractor for drywall repair after JES work. They were rude, did not show up on time and never even introduced themselves. So in conclusion: loved JES, but get your own drywall repair contractor."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Yes, designers collaborate with contractors and engineers to ensure a smooth construction process.

A floor plan is a less detailed illustration showing a building or room's layout from above, including elements like windows, doors, walls, and fixtures. It offers a simplified view for homeowners. In contrast, a blueprint is a more detailed, to-scale architectural drawing that includes all parts of the building plans, such as structural elements, construction details, and utility schematics. While a floor plan can be a type of view within a blueprint, the complete blueprint contains all the necessary details to turn the plan into a reality.

The process typically takes 2-6 weeks, depending on the project size and level of customization.

Designs typically take 2-6 months, depending on factoring, project size, and customization needs. Larger or more complex designs may require additional time for approval and revisions.

It can take anywhere from a few days to several months to draw up architectural plans, depending on the complexity of your project. Architectural plans are highly detailed documents that take time to complete, and any changes or alterations can significantly extend how long they take.
