The first was replacing our rotting retaining wall and putting in a french drain system for the north side of the house which solved the water problem we had that had rotted the old retaining wall. "Awesome end-to-end experience! After two other tree service arborists inspected trees with me but then failed to actually send estimates, I searched Angie's List and read many of Gordon's reviews. I left him a voicemail on a Friday. He called me Saturday and was willing to visit that weekend. Since I was busy over the weekend, he agreed to call Monday or Tuesday. He called Tuesday at approx. 11am, indicating he was in the area working a job and could be by in 30 minutes. I agreed to meet him. We inspected my four large shade trees (2 sycamore and 2 maples) and I explained we needed better visibility from front porch, unblock view of a corner stop sign, and ensure no growth into siding. He explained his additional recommendation for overall thinning and shaping. He provided an on the spot verbal estimate of $800 and when I asked if he accepted a credit card, he indicated yes, but would charge only $750 if I wrote a check. I had researched average job costs and Gordon's quote was very reasonable. I then asked what his lead time was and he indicated his crew was finishing a job nearby and they could be by in an hour after they ate lunch. He and his crew arrived promptly an hour later, a crew of six total, including Gordon. Gordon rang the doorbell and asked me to review first tree trimming with him before he moved on to remaining three to ensure it met my expectations per our earlier discussion. After finishing, Gordon asked me to walk our property and review pruning for all four trees. His crew was well organized, worked together like clockwork, and Gordon was right there with them working and directing to ensure all trees were pruned to expectations and clean-up was thorough. Our yard looks "larger" now and is very open with the thinning Gordon recommended, as they removed overlapping and dead branches to include providing more ground clearance. They look great and Gordon indicated they shouldn't require pruning again for at least five years. I'll now hire Gordon for annual tree / shrub maintenance (fertilize, insects, disease prevention) and fire the other provider that had provided that service but failed to provide a pruning estimate. I strongly recommend Gordon and his team for any tree related care! Well done!"

"I used them back in 2015 and was impressed with them. So I decided to use them again. I was quoted an hours worth of work. Then, when it came to the final bill, was charged for two hours worth of work, and this was with 2 men working the job. They were just replacing 3 pendant lights and 1 dining room light. So I was surprised and disappointed that it took that long. More importantly, one of the workers said something inappropriate to me. It made me feel very uncomfortable and afraid. So I called the owner to tell him what happened. He said he would speak to him. I felt like the owner could have taken me more seriously, been more sympathetic and apologetic about it. He made it sound like he was almost defending him. *** Update on this: The owner did speak with his crew member and said there was a misunderstanding of what he said and apologized for it. However, I know what I heard. Even to the end, it seemed like the owner was still defending him. Either way, I won't be using them again after my experience."
