"I hired Marathon Movers and Construction, managed by Williams Stewart, for a home improvement project, and my experience was profoundly disappointing. Mr. Stewart demonstrated a startling lack of skill and competence throughout. From the start, he admitted to lying about his ability to do the work, leading to numerous blunders: Incorrect Paint: Used the wrong type in several areas, needing extensive correction. Drywall Errors: Applied excessive mud, causing cracking. Unnecessary Work: Filled holes I didn’t request and didn’t paint over them. Poor Preparation: Neglected taping, causing splatters and spilled stains on my stairs. Tool Incompetence: Struggled with a circular saw, cutting carpet and trim incorrectly. If the faucet drips when the water is off, it probably has a loose or damaged seat washer. The screw gets loose from repeated use, making the faucet drip. With outdoor faucets, this is more common in the summer when people are using it more often to water the garden or cool off. Disassembling the faucet and tightening or replacing the seat washer and screw can get the dripping to stop.

A washing machine should drain the water used during its cycle through a drainpipe and out through the house’s plumbing. This is the same plumbing that sinks and shower drains run to, and if the U-bend is installed correctly, it shouldn’t smell. The total drainage from the house is then integrated into the city sewer system or, if you’re in the country, dispersed into a septic tank.

But as the cold weather progresses and more water or debris piles up in a frozen pipe, the risk of a burst pipe increases.
