"Time management was poor at best. Crews running too many jobs at the same time. My bathroom remodel took over 8 months to finish after a 90 day projection. ATTENTION TO DETAIL WAS VERY VERY BAD!!! Flooring was not laid smoothly (tile). Multiple holes cut in new sheet rock to hang light fixtures.. Apparently Troy can't use a tape measure properly. He was the supervisor that got fired. 1 of the workers was smoking weed in my house (we don't smoke anything inside). Neil the owner cannot be trusted to tell you the truth. Very dishonest people, company. BUYER BEWARE!!!!"

"These guys did a great job on our retaining walls! They got started quickly and got our input on the key design options at each step of the process, and they cleaned up after themselves better than any contractor I’ve worked with. We got multiple quotes and the price was very reasonable. We love our new retaining walls!"

Class A General Contractors. Veteran owned and operated out of Richmond, VA. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, roofing, general handyman work, and much more! No job is too small, call us for free estimates!

"Did not go well. Seemingly started off on the right foot with lots of promises, but problems with poor workmanship and Apex sending unqualified workers became increasingly evident as each project had multiple problems. Still dealing with problems from the poor quality workmanship and some damages to our property. Apex had difficulty delivering materials on time and seemed only interested in receiving deposit money for upcoming work that ultimately was not completed. Workers were randomly on site for work with no communication about when they would be needing access. There were long stretches of non-work, so much so, we thought the project had been abandoned at one point. Construction materials and debris were not cleaned up by Apex workers in a timely manner. Absolutely arrogant and nasty owner who was difficult to communicate with and blamed us for nearly every problem we questioned. Ultimately had to bring in the Financial Institution Loan Officer as an intermediary to facilitate ongoing dialog with Apex in an attempt to complete the project on schedule, which did not happen. The project manager who never was on site to manage the project, mislead and gave false information about work timelines, material purchases, and explanations of lack of progress. What was claimed to be a "3-month job, max" stretched into a 6 month incomplete job with cumulative problems at every turn. After the expiration of the contract terms, a 2nd contractor was hired in to finish the unfinished contract work and repair some of the problems Apex workers created. Thankfully the 2nd contractor was legit and worked quickly to complete work. The 2nd contractor was very pleasant to work with and was able to satisfy the Financial Institution terms completing all of Apex's unfinished work. Very refreshing after dealing with what became a 6 month stressful nightmare with Apex. Don't be fooled by their "glowing" reviews on their website, as we were."

"I would highly recommend Nash Contracting, the replacement retaining wall was a huge undertaking and the finished project looks incredible. Reid removed the old fence and replaced, and removed an old garage/shed."

Outdoor Kitchens questions, answered by experts

Pallet wood can withstand all kinds of outdoor weather conditions, which is part of why pallet fences are so appealing to DIY-ers. You can weatherproof the wood further before you paint or stain it, as well. Pallet fences are low-cost, easy to install, and can withstand sun and rain exposure without rotting.

You can call a second kitchen many different names—butler’s pantry, scullery, prep kitchen, working kitchen, dirty kitchen, or even just second kitchen. In modern times, however, second kitchens are almost always called prep kitchens or small kitchens. However, the purpose of a second kitchen remains the same—prepare food and clean items “behind closed doors.”

The average cost of an outdoor kitchen is around $15,500. However, since outdoor kitchens are highly customizable, you could spend anywhere from $5,000 to over $50,000 for your setup. Some important factors that can affect your pricing include the size of the kitchen, the materials you use—specifically for the countertop—the type of grill you want, and any add-on products you want coupled with your installation.

Weatherproofing and winterizing your outdoor kitchen is extremely important, especially if you experience intense weather events. Make sure to choose weather-resistant furniture and waterproof containers to store ingredients. Also, go with a high-quality grill that’s built to last and protect your cabinets with sealant or varnish. Finally, invest in a covering of some kind for when it rains or snows.

You can build an outdoor kitchen on a deck, but you should choose composite decking since it's more heat-resistant. Metal deck materials like steel and aluminum are also good choices because they're less flammable than wood. You should also consider the weight of the kitchen—make sure your deck can support it and any appliances you plan to use. You should consult a structural engineer to confirm exactly how much weight your deck can safely support when building an outdoor kitchen.
