"Lupe and his team did an amazing job with our retaining wall / curb. The project was a joint project for two homeowners. He worked well with both of us. He helped get HOA approval. Our curb appeal was totally transformed. Priced right, started on time, finished on time and did a great clean up afterwards. We will use him again for sure."

"We hired JM Concrete to remove an old broken sidewalk and pour a new one for the entrance to our home. They did a wonderful job. They are easy to get in touch with and good at returning phone calls. They gave us an excellent price on the job. They were professional, courteous, and worked hard. We are very pleased with the finished product. I would definitely recommend this company."

"Bradley and his helper Andre were awesome! He came out and gave me an estimate the same day I went on this site and was here four days later and the job was completed much to my satisfaction. They are also very reasonably priced. They removed the carpet, carpet strips, and the padding which was no easy job since the Carpet had been here since probably 1980 or so, however they did a wonderful job. They did not hurt or damaged the hardwood floors in anyway. I will sure refer them to anyone who needs any kind of junk removal or demolition jobs. I told them that I would remove the padding glue residue myself. I’m just glad to get that old carpet out of this house.. the house looks like it’s had a facelift! Thank you guys! Diane"

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

While not all homes built before 1978 contain lead paint, enough do, so you’ll still want to test to be on the safe side. The federal government banned lead-based paint for homes in 1978, but your state may have banned lead before that time. Around 24% of homes built between 1960 and 1977 contained lead-based paint, while 87% of homes built before 1940 contained lead-based paint.

The best disposal method for hazardous waste is recycling or donation, if possible. That way, the world can reduce its consumption of raw materials and the volume at which materials have to be treated and disposed of. If recycling or donation is not an option, most waste can be disposed of through landfills or incinerators, but their collection and treatment are separate from regular day-to-day waste disposal.

If lead is detected in a property, steps should include arranging for professional removal or containment, notifying all occupants, and implementing interim safety measures to reduce exposure.

Lead toxicity comes from inhaling lead or consuming it. Before the 1980s, when the government banned lead from consumer use, it could be found in paint, plumbing, pipes, ceramics, and even gasoline. Lead paint is toxic for the same reason lead itself is toxic, which is why lead poisoning from paint presents the same as lead poisoning from water or food sources, with a slight increase in respiratory symptoms vs. digestive symptoms. Lead paint is most dangerous when it’s old and peeling, cracking, or otherwise disturbed. This increases the concentration in the air and, therefore, in breathable air.

The safest way to remove lead-based paint is by letting a professional take over. For most people, lead paint removal costs an average of $3,400. You should never attempt to dry sand old lead-based paint surfaces by hand. Most professionals use a paint stripper to do the job followed by wet scraping, but if you don’t want to remove lead paint, another option is to paint over it. Only consider this option if the old lead paint finish isn’t flaking or cracked.
