"We were very pleased with the work and service from WB Castellanos Tree Service. They know what they're doing! They got here when they said they would, went right to work and did what they said they would do. I can see why they have a 5-star rating. The work and service were both excellent and very efficient. They cleaned everything up nicely afterwards also. I would highly recommend this company."

"They came out on a Tuesday morning and gave me a great estimate for the work. Had 4 other tree services make estimates. Salas was the best estimate and I checked their past ratings. Called them Wednesday morning and told them they had the job. They showed up that day about 1:00 P.M. and did the job. Yard looks great and they did great job!"

"Castillo Tree Services was outstanding in their work. They worked with me trimming several large trees exactly as we discussed. Their clean up of all debris was excellent. I really appreciate everything they did and would absolutely hire them again."

"I had 3 troublesome trees. Ricky and his crew were ready to work. They were able to come over and complete the work in about 1 1/2 hours. The crew removed the trees, raked up the debris, and hauled it away. I was amazed at the wonderful work Ricky and his crew did. I would enlist the services of Better Views Tree and Landscaping again. Thank you for a job well-done."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can prune a palm tree with a chainsaw, but a chainsaw is overkill for a job like this. You risk damaging the tree if you make a bad cut. More commonly, you’ll need pruning shears or a serrated knife to trim a palm tree, or you can use a specialized pruning saw instead of a chainsaw.

In most cases, you should not use a pruning seal on trees after trimming. Applying a sealant can interfere with the tree's natural healing process, and it does not guarantee protection from pathogens. Instead of sealing the cut, the best practice is to support the tree's natural recovery by providing it with plenty of water and a dormant-style fertilizer. However, there are exceptions. Pruning seals may be recommended for very vulnerable species, like elm trees, in areas where dangerous diseases such as Dutch elm disease are prevalent. In these specific situations, the protection offered by a sealant can outweigh its downsides. For advice tailored to your situation, especially after cutting large branches, it is best to consult a local tree trimming professional.

Homeowners are usually not responsible for trees that fall on power lines. Power companies usually have utility easements around power lines, which give them the responsibility to maintain any trees within about 15 to 20 feet of the lines.

It's easy to misidentify trees that appear to be maple trees due to similarities in leaf shapes. Sweetgum, sycamore, and yellow poplar all have leaf shapes and appearances similar to maples. The fact that around a dozen maple tree varieties exist, only about half of which are considered common, makes misidentification an often typical occurrence.

You can use herbicides to prevent roots from growing without killing the tree itself, however they must be used with caution. Systemic herbicides are absorbed by the root and can kill off problematic roots. However, herbicides can sometimes negatively impact nearby plants, so the solution is best used sparingly.
