"Steve Jones gave me the estimate for the installation within 24 hours of my request for an inspection of my garage door. He was polite and very professional in his visit. He provided me with a brochure detailing my options regarding materials and colors available, and I was so impressed by his presentation (and the fact that it was several hundred dollars less than I had been led to believe the job was going to cost) that I gave an immediate go ahead on the installation. A few weeks later (this was during the early days of Covid-19), the work was done to my complete satisfaction. I recommend Kent’s Insulating and Mr. Jones VERY highly!"

"Earth Right Mid-Atlantic was one of several companies we consulted, trying to stop wallet-draining heat loss in our 135 year-old home. Corey and his team offered a novel solution w/ reflective foil insulation and a solar-powered attic vent system. Their solution was a fraction of the cost of the other solutions proposed for our home. The cost difference was so great, we at first doubted their approach. They weren't just patient in explaining their technology - they came back twice to explain their proposal. They took the time to win our trust and our business. Once we signed-on with Earth Right Mid-Atlantic, they performed exactly as they said they would. They were on-time, diligent, and thorough. Their installer worked far into the night to complete the job on the day they had promised - dealing with our old house's surprises with no complaints or excuses. They did a great installation job. Earth Right Mid-Atlantic's proposal proved to be spot-on and their solution has been great. For the first time in all the years we've owned it, our holds temperature inside no matter what the outside is doing. I've been surprised by the silence of not hearing the HVAC run. I wondered at first if it was broken. Then I realized the truth - Earth Right Mid-Atlantic's insulating technology keeps our HVAC benefits inside our house. Our system was shutting off because it did not have to run! We've been very, very happy with the energy savings and the huge improvement in the comfort of our home. Thank you, Earth Right Mid-Atlantic."

"Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

"They used double pane E glass and it seemed to keep the heat out fairly well in the summer. They put in an air conditioning/heating unit similar to what is in a hotel so we didn't have to use our furnace in that area. Three sides are windows and one part goes to the house that is brick. They did a good job. There were a few minor details. The workers who did the construction did a good job. I was disappointed that some of the molding didn't cover up some of the spaces and I had to do some of the drainage myself. They should have taken care of the drainage problem but I should have put these things in the contract. They were easy to work with. They were very neat. There was only one spot where they made a hole in my plaster but I fixed it myself. They should have had better inspection at the end of the project because nobody came out at the end to do a final inspection. They did a walk through but it was not completely finished. They did call to see how things were going. It looks very nice and we use it all the time. We talked to a couple of other companies that do glass sunrooms but we didn?t like them as well. Their price was fair. They were fairly quick to come and check things out when we had a problem. They came on time and worked all day. They were very professional."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

You don’t need to staple insulation, as your drywall and studs will hold it into place. But if you already have a staple gun and staples lying around, it can help keep the product in place and avoid any shifting. But, most experts agree it’s an unnecessary step.

If you’re adding a vapor barrier, you will need to staple that in place.

Closed-cell spray foam insulation itself serves as a vapor barrier (or vapor retarder). However, you may need to install a vapor barrier if you have open-cell spray foam insulation. When in doubt, work with a professional insulation contractor, as they can provide more detail about the specific needs of your home in your climate.

If you have bubble wrap lying around the house and you don’t care about the odd look, taping bubble wrap over a window is a very affordable way to insulate it. Another inexpensive option for insulating windows is to add new caulk around the glass. This step quickly cuts down on air drafts for older windows, and a tube of caulk only costs a few dollars. Adding plastic shrink film around the glass is another cost-effective option. You can purchase a kit of plastic film for a few dollars per window.

Insulating your home's exterior walls can realize up to a 20% reduction in your monthly energy bills. This means that regardless of how much the project costs, it can begin to pay you back immediately. Additionally, adding spray foam and other high-end materials can increase the selling value of the property.

Yes, exposure to fiberglass insulation can cause harm to your skin and eyes. However, this typically refers to the fiberglass insulation that is mostly used in walls and attics. Fiberglass doors don’t pose risks for fiberglass exposure because they're fully encased in polymer cladding.
