"I received my quote through Davenport Insulation, but received an invoice from Kent's Insulation with a remit to address in Atlanta, GA. Invoice dated June 28, received in mail July 9. I don't understand why I did not get a bill from Davenport. My door was installed on our agreed to time. A great job and they were professional and easy to work with."

"Earth Right Mid-Atlantic was one of several companies we consulted, trying to stop wallet-draining heat loss in our 135 year-old home. Corey and his team offered a novel solution w/ reflective foil insulation and a solar-powered attic vent system. Their solution was a fraction of the cost of the other solutions proposed for our home. The cost difference was so great, we at first doubted their approach. They weren't just patient in explaining their technology - they came back twice to explain their proposal. They took the time to win our trust and our business. Once we signed-on with Earth Right Mid-Atlantic, they performed exactly as they said they would. They were on-time, diligent, and thorough. Their installer worked far into the night to complete the job on the day they had promised - dealing with our old house's surprises with no complaints or excuses. They did a great installation job. Earth Right Mid-Atlantic's proposal proved to be spot-on and their solution has been great. For the first time in all the years we've owned it, our holds temperature inside no matter what the outside is doing. I've been surprised by the silence of not hearing the HVAC run. "Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

The heat loss through a poorly insulated attic when you’re running your furnace or heat pump during cold weather can be as high as 25%. It might take longer if you need to remove your home’s existing insulation, you have a higher-than-average square footage, or accessibility is limited.

Plaster itself has a higher R-value than drywall. However, there are other considerations surrounding plaster and insulation. As a general rule, it's easier to obtain consistency in insulating value and quality when working with drywall rather than plaster. Plaster walls often don't contain any insulation behind the wall covering by design, and careful evaluation is necessary when choosing to add it.
