"What a terrible experience. There is no supervisor on site despite being told there would be. I had broken sprinkler lines despite having marked them in paint and pointed out the markings. I had to correct the concrete forms because the radius was not to specifications nor was it level. The stone wall was placed in the wrong place and had to be redone. And to top it off they broke both mine and my neighbors mailboxes and refused to pay for the damage."

Water damage in your home’s foundation is gradual, often beginning with small cracks that let water seep in. Over time, this weakens the foundation, which then allows in more water, causing significant structural damage. This process can take months or years to destroy your foundation, and the repairs can be very costly. Have your foundation inspected regularly to prevent significant damage.

Yes, it’s worth it to repair a crawl space foundation, even if the issue seems relatively minor. Foundation problems often get worse and more expensive to fix if you leave them untreated. Additionally, your entire home, from the framing and flooring to the roof system, relies on the foundation for even and level support. Issues with your foundation will almost always manifest as problems in and above your living space, so it’s important to find a solution.

Some foundation repairs are permanent, like underpinning and exterior drainage systems like the French drain. These fixes address the underlying problems—insufficient support from the soil and hydrostatic pressure on your foundation walls, respectively—so they can last for many decades, making them “lifetime fixes.” There are other solutions to address these issues that will last for up to a decade, making them temporary. These include slabjacking to raise concrete slabs back into place and dampproofing to reduce the water in the soil that interacts with the concrete foundation.
