"I have 2 circuit breaker boxes. I am still not sure I needed a 400 amp upgrade. I already has 300 amps and never had a single problem .Now I have an unsightly and huge piece of metal conduit running up the side of my roof, through a huge hole drilled through my roof. It is 5 feet off the roof with pieces of metal hanging off it. In addition there is a massive electrical line about 1 1/2 inches in diameter, running through my attic and coming down the other side of my house. One breaker box is not flat and has large gaps all around it. The boys who did the job seemed to do it well. It seemed they do not often do this sort of thing . Jesse and Nick worked really hard. The quality control guy came after all the work was done, swept and labeled circuit boxes. Now Will Sandridge who seems to sell the HVAC and minisplits is not calling back. I also told Melvin Turner I wanted my old circuit breaker boxes and breakers. They took them away without even asking if I wanted them. My house looks ugly now and the reason I put in that electric upgrade was to get minisplits or a heat pump and no one is responding.I asked about a surge protector and got a shrug. I am rather devastated and feel I was railroaded into an electric upgrade perhaps to give the boys the experience? I see no other reviews with an electric upgrade, just generators."

"WB Lightning Rods did an excellent job installing lightening rods on our home. The owner stayed onsite the entire time to supervise the work. He took extra care to plan the rod and cable placement to ensure the proper protection and retain the aesthetics of our home. His crew were knowledgeable, polite, neat and efficient. We could not be more pleased with the results."

"I would like to recommend Joshua Smith as a Tesla installer and overall electrician. He did a great job for my wife and I on the installation of our powerwall 3 and car chargers within our garages as well as trouble shooting some other electrical problems at our new home at Smith Mountain Lake. Additionally, he answers phone calls and shows up on time. Again, we highly recommend Joshua."

A 10,000-watt generator can run a small to mid-sized central AC unit (typically up to 3 tons or 36,000 BTU) along with a few other appliances. However, larger AC units or additional loads will require a bigger generator. Consult a local generator installer to ensure you add the correct size generator to your home.

GFCI stands for ground fault circuit interrupter, which means it has the ability to detect a ground fault and shut the circuit down before it creates hazards. General breakers may also do that because ground faults can cause overloads, but they’re more focused on amp overloads from any cause. GFCIs are often installed in specific outlets, but breakers can come with GFCI capabilities built in for broader ground fault protection.

You can test an electric fence with a multimeter, but you’ll need to set the multimeter to the correct voltage measurement—such as alternative current (AC) or direct current (DC) and range—depending on your fence. You can find the voltage type and range in the fence’s user manual.

Yes. You can connect your home back-up battery to a generator with its designated charger. Be sure that the output of the generator matches the input requirements for the battery for best results.

Moving an electrical outlet typically costs between $25 and $300. The final price depends on several factors, including the type of outlet, the condition of your existing wiring, and the state of your walls. For example, working on exposed walls without drywall is easier and less expensive for an electrician. However, if the walls are finished, the cost may increase to account for necessary repairs afterward. It's recommended to consult a professional for a precise quote based on your specific situation.
