"We were unable to get the variance permission from Fairfax County to allow the construction to proceed (after 2 years of trying). We have tried to cancel the contract with Total Remodeling Systems, and they have been completely unresponsive. We have sent 3 letters, 4 emails, and left half a dozen messages. We cannot get anyone to acknowledge that we want to cancel the contract, and we cannot get anyone to provide us with information about a refund (or partial refund) of our 20% deposit. We have been trying for 6 MONTHS to get a response. NOTHING!!!"

"Very slow work. The equipment was picked up in early March and it was June before the last piece was delivered back to me. The mower wouldn't run when I got it back. They finished one piece fairly quickly, but it sat on their lot until May and they started sending past due bills for that one finished piece that wasn't even at my house. They were always pleasant on the phone and in person, but the overall impression was business chaos. None of the equipment that they worked on ran well on return - the mower started when they brought it back the second time, then stopped running a week later; the zero turn had a squeak and both the zero turn and tiller were running rough. I did not ask them to fix the issues after the mower issue. No way was I bringing anything back to them. I had no idea how long it would take and my neighbors were already cutting my grass for me since the equipment had been away for so long. Plus they put their business sticker on all of my equipment."
