"Finding your soul mate, choosing your child's name, and finding a reliable Contractor are three of the most important decisions of your life. You don't have to take my advice on the first two, but do heed me when it comes to who you let in your home. Compass Bath and Remodel is the best decision you could make in your life. Russ built from scratch a modern, pristine, luxury resort get-away in what used to be our basement. You can't believe a bathroom could be so beautiful! His plan, from the first pencil stroke of design, to the last dab of caulk beneath the toilet, exceeded what I imagined for a 3/4 bathroom. Over the last couple of years, I've had multiple companies in Northern Utah give me ideas, and estimates, that I thought were outrageous in price and lacking in detail. Russ will make you feel at ease the moment he enters. His plan was not just a rectangle on graph paper, but a calendar and timeline for how long the job will take. Unlike the horror stories you see on HGTV or have heard from your DIY friends, if Russ says 3 weeks, the job will be three weeks. Not framing on Monday and "See ya in 3 weeks." All the men who work with him do their job and care about their reputation and your home. Russ keeps you updated on what is going to happen each day and makes sure that it does occur. A home remodel is going to cost you money. Hire Russ and Compass Bath and Remodel and save your peace of mind."

"we hired Cransten to do a remodel of our kitchen, master bath and floors in kitchen, dining room, living room, stairs and upstairs den. The initial process was different then I had seen before with me going over the scope of work with a project manager on the phone and me sending pictures of the rooms and spaces that would be remodeled. Different isn't bad their process worked very well. before the work the contractor Robert [Provider Name Removed] made an appointment to complete a walk through. Robert showed up early which was a pleasant surprise as most companies get there when they want. We eventually signed after a price was given. The billing process was simple. And several people from the company checked in with me each week to ensure we were happy and things were going good. A date was set to begin the demo and the project. Robert [Provider Name Removed] actually asked us what time he could start and was incredibly thoughtful of us the entire length of the process. His plan was always with us in mind in ord"

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel questions, answered by experts

Adding a bedroom can increase a home’s value more than adding a bathroom, but it varies with factors like the location, age, and condition of the home. However, remember that you might also need to add a bathroom to the home, depending on how many bedrooms and bathrooms you currently have.

Yes, major renovations such as widening doors or installing lifts typically require permits and inspections.

Tile removal costs about $2 to $7 per square foot unless you do it yourself. When you hire a pro, tile installation costs $5 to $45 per square foot. Costs vary widely, but they depend on the tile material (custom-made stone tiles cost significantly more than plain ceramic tile), location, and tile size.

You can add a bathroom almost anywhere in a house, but location, space, and existing plumbing and electrical setups are major factors that impact price. Running plumbing and electrical to your new bathroom can become costly, so think strategically about where to add them. You’ll need a big enough space with plenty of ventilation and outlets to accommodate the bathroom you’re envisioning.

It is less expensive to build up than it is to add a bedroom or a bath if you want to increase your home's square footage. This is because it requires less material and labor to do so. Adding a second story only requires additional framing and structure without the need for a new foundation or space on a property.
