"Looks amazing! So helpful and having them do the next job too. Super affordable for long plank ceramic tiles. My house was cleaned completely afterwards. Then on as if they could be any better, he hauled off carpets for me too! Yes is the word if you want a professional install! Hire these guys cannot believe I got so lucky!!!! It only took 4 days! "We are extremely pleased with the professional tile work that Kathy did for us. We needed our front porch tiles replaced which included an enormous amount of effort to remove the old chipped tiles. "Gunnar did an excellent job. He removed and replaced three tiles that were broken. Not only did he removed the old tile quickly but he started from the underbord up with the replacement. A thorough and professional job! I would recommend him to anyone!"

Porcelain and ceramic tiles are made from clay, but porcelain tiles are fired in a kiln at a higher temperature. This makes them more durable, but it also means porcelain is more expensive than ceramic at $3 to $5 more per square foot.

You cannot tile directly over hot mop waterproofing because tile requires a smooth, solid surface to adhere properly. Additionally, the shower bed pan needs to be raised and sloped toward the drain to prevent water from pooling. However, you can hot mop and apply a sloped mortar bed over the top (to which the tile can then be adhered). 

You can lay tile directly on a plywood countertop, but if it’s a high-traffic surface in a kitchen, it’s better to add a moisture-resistant base. Plywood is susceptible to moisture, so if dampness seeps through from the surface around the sink or where you prep food, it can cause the plywood to warp, leading to grout damage, cracked tiles, or mold growth under the surface. 

Yes, your shower pan goes underneath your tiling and helps prevent excess water from seeping into the floor. Without the shower pan under your tile, water will seep through the grout and into the flooring. This will eventually lead to mold growth and serious water damage that could cost thousands of dollars to fix.

You can attach tiles to a wall using thin-set mortar. You’ll also need a notched trowel to create grooves within the adhesive so it flattens completely when pressed in and securely holds the wall tiles. Finally, you’ll need grout to smooth the gaps between the tiles and, ideally, a grout sealer to prevent mold.
