"Failed to fix the issue the first time, and was contacted to come fix the issue. Agreed to take time to come that Friday. That Friday I woke up to a text saying it wouldn?t be until Tuesday because Monday is a holiday. The manager Tracy got on the phone and got very irate because I complained about having to take a third day off for her company to do what they should have done the first time. I expect a full refund, and a $20 da day storage price for the faulty parts. If how I was treated was any indication of how they work the other reviews are obviously lies."

"Unbelievably over-priced! They charge $185/hour for labor and $95 ($89 + tax) to diagnose. The door of my microwave broke last week. I had called Mr. Appliance and spoke with them on the phone about the door latch not working. The owner did discuss with me possible causes of this malfunction on our first cell phone conversation. I asked about replacing a part for it and he had mentioned that the part I needed was no longer made by Kitchen Aid. He stated that to make sure that this was really the problem, I would need to have them look at and diagnose it. Our conversation ended at that point. So, I tried to open up the back of the microwave and found that I didn't have the proper tools to do so. I went to Home Depot and purchased a "Star Screwdriver" that worked. I opened it up and found what was wrong: a small part had broken off and needed to be replaced or glued back on. I looked online for the part, found the schematic and the part but found that it is no longer available online. I even called Kitchen Aid Customer Service to confirm that that part was no longer available. I made "No attempt" to repair it myself but took out the broken part, put in a zip lock baggie and taped it to the top of the microwave. I was referred to Mr. Appliance from a local furniture company in Lehi, Ut. I called Mr. Appliance and asked what the price would be to get it fixed and was told that it would be $95 for Mr. Appliance to come pick it up and to diagnose it. To avoid paying that fee, as I mentioned earlier, I took the part out, put it in a zip lock baggie and taped it to the top of the microwave and had my wife personally drive it over to Pleasant Grove, Ut (a 20 minute drive for my wife) I simply wanted to know how much it would cost to fix that part that I taped on top of the microwave. Mr. Appliance did call my wife and explained that the cost would be about $215 and explained in detail how the repair would be done. About 5 days later I drove to PG to pick up my microwave. I walked into their building and asked how much it would be to repair the microwave door latch and found out that it would cost over $200 to repair. (I had not heard this news from my wife as of yet). I was stunned--I made up my mind then and there that I would not have the oven fixed. When I went in to pick up my old microwave off the table, I was told that I had to pay the $95 ($89 + tax) diagnosis fee. I had never agreed to pay that "diagnosis fee" when speaking with them on the phone and my wife had signed no contract to pay that fee at drop off. When I refused to pay this fee, I was accused of being dishonest, that I couldn't take my microwave, and that they would 'take action' if I didn't pay. I was furious--I left without MY microwave (a Kitchen Aid 20114 model) and drove straight to Best Buy. Considering that is the cost of a new microwave, I decided to simply buy a new one for $185 from Best Buy (total cost with tax was $208.00). A warning to others concerning their "diagnosis fee" on a small appliance and their hourly fee to repair!! I thought if the fee to fix the door latch was around $25-$35 or even $50.00, this might have been an option for me to get a few more years out of my old oven. I didn't buy a new Kitchen Aid (about $450-$550 to replace) but I did buy a great LG Inverter Microwave (10 year warranty). I wanted to set the record straight!!"

A washer and dryer must be plugged into a GFCI outlet when installed in a laundry room, utility room, garage, or basement with the required water source. These spaces require that all outlets be GFCI-protected. Elsewhere, there is no specific requirement for plugging a washer and dryer into a GFCI outlet. However, you may wish to do so for extra peace of mind.

You might need to install a new outlet if there isn’t one already located within 5 feet of the hot tub or if the current outlet you have installed and plan to use with the hot tub isn’t sufficient to carry the required electrical load. Most current hot tub models use 50 to 60 amps and require 220 to 240 volts to function. The cost to install a 220 outlet averages about $220according to HomeAdvisor

If your unit is more than 10 years old and facing constant repairs, replace it with a new air conditioner. If the unit is under 10 years old but repairs total more than $5,000, consult your warranty. If repairs still cost more than $5,000 after warranty coverage, go ahead and replace the unit. Keep the lifespan of an AC unit and the cost of maintenance in mind when deciding whether to repair or replace an air conditioner.

Yes, electric-start snow blowers need to be plugged in to start, but you can unplug them and go once they’re up and running. Simply plug the snow blower into an outdoor outlet and press the start button. Once it starts, you can unplug it and use it freely. The idea for these types of snow blowers is to simplify the starting process from the typical pull-string starts.

You’ll notice your heating element is bad if your oven isn’t heating. Another common sign is if food is cooked unevenly. The element itself could look damaged, like if there were cracks or blisters on the element’s surface. If there is no damage, check the continuity by using a multimeter.
