"Timp Trees had the best pricing for their service by far! They were able to get us on the schedule within a week and finished the project in 2 days, cleaning up their mess before they left. Would HIGHLY recommend. Casey and his crew were amazing to work with for our tree removal and stump grinding. They even got rid of a tree house for us that included some pretty stubborn concrete feet buried in the ground. They really went above and beyond."

"Researched for an arborist to take down a branch that fell after a winter storm, and Alpine Arborists responded quickly. They were out the next day and even were able to come earlier. They cut the branch, put them into manageable piles and clear off the deck. Would recommend!"

"Supreme Tree and Landscape Service LLC tackled a big job for us today. They came in and removed one very large rotten maple, 2 elm trees and some stumps from our garden. They also trimmed our other large maple, 2 crab apple trees, and 1 small elm. They were very professional; they took care to grind all the stumps and clear away all the debris. They were here about 4 hours and the job cost us under $1300. We are planning on calling them back to do general yard maintenance and trimming in the spring for about $300."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

It is good to spray water on a Christmas tree to help keep the needles hydrated. Spraying a Christmas tree with water prevents dryness, stops needles from falling off, and reduces the risk of fire.

Costs reflect the size of the tree or shrub, the complexity of the task, location accessibility, and disposal needs, and comprehensive quotes vary accordingly.

Many gardeners charge an hourly rate for their services, and your total cost will depend on the amount of services and the experience of the gardener. Gardeners with basic experience charge between $20 and $30 per hour, while a more experienced gardener can charge as much as $60 to $88 per hour.

The cost of lawn mowing is about $125, which you might need on a weekly or biweekly basis. However, the cost of soil testing averages about $1,450, which should only be done every three to five years.

Since each tree is different, it’s impossible to say how long a dead tree can remain on your property. While it could be days, months, or even years, it’s highly likely that, at some point, the tree will fall. In the meantime, dying or dead trees can become a haven for pests, so it’s best to have them removed sooner rather than later.

The best way to protect tree roots is to avoid the roots entirely by excavating outside the root radius of the tree. For nearby projects, it’s a good idea to construct a temporary retaining wall. But that’s not always possible, depending on the project and the root system. In these cases, consider using alternative equipment like an auger to tunnel under the ground.

Remember, tree roots can damage nearby cement foundations as they grow. If a tree is close enough to interfere with large excavations, it may be better to remove the tree than risk future problems.
