Another big name company wanted to put holes in my walls and ceiling to trace a water line. Expert Water Systems noticed that it looked like it had been pre-plumbed for the service. Turns out, it had! No holes in walls, unnecessary altering of water pipes, drywall to fix, etc etc. A+ work by Expert Water not to mention how quickly we were able to have our service completed. I’m home alone with three kids getting bullied by a plumber at Roto-Rooter. Several hours their sister restoration company called me and said the state was concerned with my flooding and mold from my recent need of a hose bib. Our basement didn’t flood and this company tried to represent themselves as the state! I did get the job done by a certified plumber from ACE, total cost $275.00. So...Roto-Rooter upbid by $500.00 and harassed me. Don’t be this companies next mark, they are crooks!"

"I had Manwill put in their top of the line Lennox Furnace (no thermostat was installed - used existing Google nest unit) and for the past 18 months we experienced a consistent increase in energy (kWh) consumption for heating and cooling. Today I called Manwill, explained my negative ROI on my initial investment and asked about having them install the thermostat they originally recommended in hopes of seeing an improvement. The price they quoted me had gone up $500 in 18 months (total quoted was over $1300, original quote, ~$800) so I’ve decided to terminate all my business with Manwill. I found the exact same S40 Lennox thermostat on Amazon brand new from an authorized Lennox dealer for $599 with the full manufacturer warranty and full feature set. Essentially Manwill was going to charge me $700 over retail price to install the thermostat. Sure Manwill has good service but are you willing to pay those kind of prices for good service and in my case product that does not deliver?? By the way, they put 3lbs of the most common Freon in my AC last week and that cost $684.00 (their cost per pound ~$40). Just seems everyone wants to jack their prices up and use inflation as an excuse for gouging hard working American families."

"If you want to waste $15,000, come here! FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. They will steal your money, lazily put your mini-splits, and need to return 5 times to fix it. We bought the mini-splits in March, and they have not consistently worked for more than two weeks at a time. One tech spent NINE hours here trying to fix it. Then needed to send someone else out the next week because the first guy couldn't repair it. They stopped working a couple weeks after that and more techs were sent out. We have had to adjust work schedules so many times for these fools to come out and temporarily "fix" the problem. One of the times the mini splits stopped working was during the 100+ degree days. They said they couldn't send out a tech to fix the mini splits but they could send someone else to set up a mini cooler until the mini splits got fixed. Here's an idea - don't put in $15,000 systems that stop working a few months after use and you won't need the mini cooler at all. The system come with a "12 year warranty." But don't worry - your systems won't last that long. Avoid this company at all costs. Straight up thieves."

Water softeners also need to be calibrated so that they don’t make your water too soft, as soft water poses just as many risks as hard water. Overall, it’s well worth hiring a local water softener installer to place your water softener system.
Your water softener size is based on your total household water consumption. In most cases, you can assume the average household member will use around 75 gallons per day. Multiply that by the number of people in your home, then multiply by 10 (for the typical grains per gallon). You’ll get a number in grains that should help roughly size your water softener.
