"The owner of Integrity Maintenance & Repair, Brian Finlayson, showed up on time. He was incredibly professional and friendly. He removed the old dishwasher, plus a deceased mouse and rabbit from underneath it! He used my cannister vacuum to remove the "stuff"and gunk on the floor underneath before installing the new dishwasher. He was one of the nicest, most courteous repair professionals I've ever had in my home. I'd definitely recommend him. A++

Appliance Repair questions, answered by experts

Faulty heating elements, broken igniters, temperature inconsistencies, and gas leaks are frequent issues.

You’ll notice your heating element is bad if your oven isn’t heating. Another common sign is if food is cooked unevenly. The element itself could look damaged, like if there were cracks or blisters on the element’s surface. If there is no damage, check the continuity by using a multimeter.

Some types of electric fireplaces use more electricity than others. Models that produce 1,500 watts will have more of an effect on your heating bill than 750-watt models.

Electric fireplaces use an average of $1.85 of electricity every eight hours. These minimal operational costs aren’t likely to make a big difference in your electric bill—unless you’re using it as a primary heating source for your home and it’s running most of the time.

Inverter generators are designed to turn on the engine when your appliances demand more energy. This is in contrast to running at full capacity as soon as they’re turned on, like a standard portable generator does. So long as the wattage rating is high enough, an inverter can power a refrigerator just as well as a traditional generator.

You can use the baking soda and vinegar mixture as described above, or you can use an oven cleaner you find at a hardware or big-box store. Just follow the label’s cleaning instructions and keep cleaners away from coils and other heating elements.
