"We live here in Sammamish and had work done April of 2021. Our drive way had a shallow hole forming in one place and a multitude of cracks all around the drive way and walk way. It was in desperate need of repair. We called Taukano and he came out within a day or two to give an estimate. Out of all of the 5 estimates we gathered his was by far the best quote we received and with his other great reviews we decided his company was the best fit for our needs. Once out HOA approved our driveway proposal I called Taukano and he was able to fit us in that same week. We were shocked how fast these men worked. They came early and left late every day but got the job done in just 2.5 days. They offered helpful advice and allowed us to weigh in on all decisions without pressure. We loved having them at our place and will be calling them again for any concrete work we need in the future."

"Both Hunter and Carter were very professional, courteous and above all friendly. They arrived on time and began to evaluate the situation of lifting the badly sunken areas of our back patio which in certain areas was at 6? to 7? along the foundation. Hunter then proceeded to explain the whole operation involving the drilling, application of the polyurethane foam and sealing process. He did address a few areas of concern which involved the cracks where half of the concrete panel had lifted 3? to 4? higher than it?s original surface, and that it may not drop back down. After observing the beginning of the operation for a short time it was clearly evident that Hunter and Carter were true professionals and were intent on performing great quality and workmanship, which in the end will always provide and produce a great product. What they were able to do and accomplish of lifting our back patio was truly remarkable, and I cannot commend them enough for their hard work and due diligence."

Concrete Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can replace a cinder block foundation. If a block foundation is too severely damaged to repair cracks and other issues, replacing the entire foundation is a viable option. The job will require a professional and can take between one to seven days on average to complete, depending on how complex the problem is.

You can use a level or straight-edge to test for plumb foundation walls and a level slab, a level or a ball to check for sloping floors inside your home, and a hygrometer to look for moisture in your underhome area. Aside from these DIY tests, it’s important to get a foundation repair specialist or structural engineer to test the foundation to see if it’s supporting your structure properly. They can determine if the loads on the concrete are uneven or need reinforcement.

While it can be difficult to identify a bad foundation at first glance, look for large horizontal cracks, discoloration, bulging basement walls, or signs of water damage. You may also see large gaps between the home and the foundation on the outside or signs of pooling water from a recent storm.

Yes, it’s worth it to repair a crawl space foundation, even if the issue seems relatively minor. Foundation problems often get worse and more expensive to fix if you leave them untreated. Additionally, your entire home, from the framing and flooring to the roof system, relies on the foundation for even and level support. Issues with your foundation will almost always manifest as problems in and above your living space, so it’s important to find a solution.

The foundation repair that will work best varies based on the extent of the damage, the underlying cause, soil conditions, weather conditions, and more. Permanent foundation solutions like underpinning and exterior drainage solutions are better than temporary fixes that don’t address the source of the issue. Some examples of more temporary solutions include mudjacking or slabjacking, waterproof paint, and dampproofing. The best course of action is to have a reliable foundation specialist inspect your issue, treat the underlying problem, and restabilize your foundation.
