"Hiring SLC Landscaping was the best decision. Carey and his crew were professional yet down to earth. They showed up when they said. They worked hard to get the job done. Carey(the Owner) was helpful, pointing me in the right direction so that my project turned out just like I wanted. He didn't tell me what to do, just offered ideas. They zero scaped my entire front yard. Which included trimming bushes, new drip system, and helping me with the design I wanted. It's beautiful. My neighbor's even commented about how good it looks and how hard they work. I will definitely be using this company in the future for any work I need in my yard. I would give them 10 Stars if I could."

"First thing I want to say about this company is that they have excellent customer service. I was a tiny yard(under 5000 sq. ft.) and I felt like they gave me the same attention they would large customers. All my emails and phone calls were returned and I was never just ignored. Next thing I recommend is to buy their first year treatment service. They will come and do the treatment and it's also a great time for them to see the lawn, and make recommendations. All in all, it did take some time, but the lawn came in nice, but I am most impressed with their customer service."

"The Groundsman did a superb job mowing my lawn. It was the first mowing of the season so the back yard was especially long, It looks great and they edged the front yard along the sidewalks and driveway. They cleaned everything and took away the clippings too."

"Argenis and crew faithfully mowed and edged my lawn weekly. They did a good job and cleared the driveway and sidewalks of grass clippings. My neighbor liked what he saw and hired Argenis too. We plan to have Argenis resume caring for our lawn next year."

"I think they treated the wrong lawn. The note they sent me via text message referenced trees and shrubs in my yard, I have none. They also did not leave a yard marker showing they had been there. Otherwise, this would have been a 5 star review."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

How often you should maintain your yard depends on your climate and what season it is. A general rule of thumb is to maintain a lawn height of three inches.

Land clearing costs an average of $3,743, but prices can range anywhere from $400 to $15,000, depending on the size of the land you need cleared, how dense the coverage is, and what needs to be removed. Expect prices toward the lower end if your professional just needs to mulch some plants and shrubs on a small patch of land, and expect prices to move toward the higher end for things like taking down a large number of trees and removing landscaping boulders.

Foxtail grass is not native to the United States, so it is considered an invasive plant. Giant foxtail originated in eastern Asia, Green foxtail is native to Europe, and Yellow foxtail is native to Eurasia. This grass variety is one of many common invasive plant species that you should keep out of your yard and garden beds as much as possible.

There are several ways to decompose yard waste quickly. The first step is to move all debris into a compost bin or pile. From there, microorganisms, bacteria, and insects will break down the yard waste into compost. To speed things up, shred the waste into smaller pieces, add live worms to the pile, or introduce nitrogen-rich compost accelerators like grass clippings, coffee grounds, and manure. Turn the compost over every few days. This process, called aerating, allows oxygen to get in and accelerate decomposition.

Skunk digging looks like a series of small, cone-shaped holes on a lawn or around the perimeter of a home, porch, deck, or shed. The holes that skunks dig when searching for grubs tend to be no more than four inches in diameter and may be up to four inches deep.
