"A little high priced for a toilet repair. The stopper was not fitting on the seal when you flushed causing it to run constantly. $395 was a pretty high in my opinion for a $20 toilet kit. We should have done that ourselves. Water Heater did have problems and we were happy to get a new one and have installed. There again, paid a high price for water heater."

"I think it’s important to have a company you can trust. They were honest and very knowledgeable. The staff from customer service to the technicians very friendly. Mike along with another worker came out, they stayed until the job was done right. It was clear they take pride it what they do. They will certainly be my plumbers moving forward."

"Lone Star did a great job on installing new water faucets outside.  Price was good, they were very professional. However, I gave them a C rating because I called for an estimate on another job.  They came out and were going to email me the estimate.  After almost a week, I called and was told they hadn't gotten to it yet.  I have never heard from them.  I wasted time waiting for their bid, thinking that if it was reasonable, I would go with them since hey did a good job on the faucets.  I will not call them again for anything. "

"Fantastic. While one was installing the water heater, the other came in to look at the garbage disposal. He discovered that there was nothing wrong with my garbage disposal, and both men redid the plumbing as it was leaking and per one "we are not going to leave it like that for you." I offered to pay and they refused. Not only did they redo the plumbing pipes, they clean up so well, and I could not be more pleased. They even told me that if I needed the water heat turned up, they would come back. In today's world where customer service appears to be going South, this company continues to exceed my expectations. I first used them for an outside leak, and due to the professionalism and performance of the crew, I called them again and was not disappointed. I'm sorry I did not get the two men's names, but they were fantastic."

"Emanuell called immediately after we placed our request with Service Magic, and was out the following day. He confirmed his arrival time in advance and even showed up early to get started. He finished our sink install within the time and cost that was quoted over the phone. I highly recommend his services."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to move wastewater and solid waste to the municipal sewer or septic tank. However, for fixtures located below grade (e.g., in a basement), gravity is not sufficient.

The purpose of a sewage ejector pump is to actively pump this wastewater and solid waste upward into the main sewer line. Without an ejector pump in this situation, wastewater would have no way to exit and would eventually back up, causing a sewage overflow or flooding in your basement. If all of your home's plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity can handle the drainage, and an ejector pump is not needed.

Every three to four months, you should clean any dirt and debris off of your sump pump. You should also check the inlet screen (at the bottom of the pump) to make sure that it isn’t blocked. On top of that, you should deep clean your sump pump once per year—or hire a sump pump pro to do it for you.

Some sump pumps are powered by water rather than electricity. Water-powered sump pumps generally use one gallon of city water to pump out two gallons of water from its basin. Therefore, if you're looking at a potential 10,000-gallon flood, your sump pump will need to use 5,000 gallons of city water to prevent it.

3/4 HP is stronger than 1/2 HP. Horsepower measures how much weight can be moved and how fast, or the power needed to move 550 pounds one foot in one second. 1 HP equals 550 foot-pounds per second, so the higher the horsepower, the heavier the load it can lift. While 1/2 HP is a standard, powerful option, 3/4 HP has the extra strength to handle heavier, larger doors with ease.

A water pressure booster doesn't require special maintenance. Like any house system, inspections should be a regular part of your annual schedule. Check for leaks, faulty valves, pressure loss, and mineral build-up. Pressure loss could be a result of mineral build-up, and you can descale the system with a vinegar and water solution.
